http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/apr/01/camp-nama-iraq-human-rights-abuses I used to think that it took a serious amount of brainwashing to take normal loving people and turn them into monsters for the state. But apparently it only takes the promise of a regular paycheck and a couple of loud annoying commercials. Needless to say I read the article and I'm not surprised
have a seat, wear a nice hat, relax, its gonna be a while.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-gz-JqP5Fo"]Jail spike tv - YouTube
Absolutely none of that report surprises me! Even though the conditions and treatment are/were horrific what I hate is the military and government propensity for down right lying! It makes me so fucking sick and angry!
This is the sickness that's fills this world. There was once a time when everything was sacred in this world and today almost nothig is. As such the men and women that perpetrate these horrible acts have been deprived of all that which gives meaning and joy to life. Without joy in life there are only 2 things a person can see and that is greed and the desire for power. The soldiers and other personal that are involved in these horrors can't hide behind the excuse of following orders. They are just as guilty those that sent them and one day they too will have to answer for their actions. Because if you hurt even just one soul you hurt all of creation.
People are capable of sick things. Let's hope everyone involved in this secret prison is brought to justice. If you hurt even just one soul you hurt all of creation, because we are all the world.... atman is brahman.
Good article i always like the guardian as a newspaper and reading it online. This doesnt surprise me at all. Interesting that the Americans made a legal loop hole....after the SAS got the guy a lone american soldier would accompany them and then be recorded as capturing him. crazy shit. great thread. wish more people would want to contribute.
Nope, just the aura of power can do it in a few days, to anybody, possibly even you. Have none of you heard of the infamous Stanford University Prison Experiment? seems anyone is susceptible to the lure of power. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_prison_experiment or can be compelled by authority figures to do things completely contrary to their nature. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milgram_experiment it's not just because it's the military.
Humans have been doing horrible injustices to each other since the beginning of time. It's vile and evil and it makes me sad for the human race but it isn't new.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_hostages_in_Iraq They didn't sign the Geneva convention or the United Nations Charter, though...not that it seems to have mattered. http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press...obama-address-united-nations-general-assembly
The root of extreme evil is our willingness to submit to authority. Most of us are capable of killing another human being is a guy in a uniform or lab coat tells us we have too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milgram_experiment
