I ended my last fast at 7 this evening with a large grass-fed sirloin steak, baked beans and a lettuce salad. I then had two raw, pastured eggs, some organic beef jerky, coconut oil, blackberries, raw almonds, whey protein powder in almond milk, and half an avocado. In a little while I am going to be having some beers.

Very very close to the types of things I'll often eat... did you mean unpasteurized eggs though or what do you mean? In any case I can't get myself to eat raw eggs though just because of the taste.

I know unpasteurized milk and such is good for you though.

No, I meant pastured eggs. In other words, eggs from free-range chickens. I usually consume them raw since that is the healthiest way. Heat damages a lot of the more important nutrients found in eggs. I don't mind the taste much. In fact there isn't much taste. The texture can be off-putting for some, though. I just crack them into a glass and knock them back in a matter of a second or two.

Yeah, it just freaks me out even though I know it's healthy and cooking food makes it lose nutrients. That's why I take digestive enzymes with or before my food- it helps you to process and utilize the nutrients that would have been lost in cooking, amongst other things. Figure it's a good compromise.

Is it true that if you wash the egg off before cracking it won't give you salmonella?

I ask because I give my dogs raw eggs sometimes. I know dogs can handle it better than us, but I was asking around and someone told me the bacteria is only on the outside of the shell.
