Have a look at this Youtube clip of Sergio Mendes and Brasil66. I don't understand the long skirts like to their ankles that seems odd for the time.

Yep, it was either minis or ankle length skirts. I have loads of photos of me wearing long skirts from about 68-69, a lot of them were vintage evening dresses from the 20s and 30s. The "granny dress" was popular after about 67.

I wore a lot of long skirts and dresses too, in those days. I used to make skirts with old jeans. I would usually use old denim as the inserts and embroider as inspired. I made most of my clothes back in the day. Many things from recycling older clothes.

Yes, this. I was about to respond to the OP that it was called the granny dress, then I saw this post. It was very hippy.

Long skirts were part of the Granny Look, along with granny glasses, usually short hair, high button shoes, ruffled blouses, etc, etc...It was never really super popular. But it did last, for more conservative minded females, from 1965 to the early 70s.

I always wonder if someone dressed like now, with slick straight hair and all went back to the 60s, would they look like they're from the future..? /stonerphilosophies. :D
