I live with my husband on our small farm in NE Texas. We have been living on his social security disabilty since 87 when he broke his back in the Oil Fields. I work on and off as I can, and make soaps, lotions and candles. I don't make much money at it cuz' I tend to give it away more then I sell it..lol.. it makes me happy. There are a lot of things you can do to help out your parents. You could find something you are good at doing and like woodwork, painting, or someother craft, or you could help out the elders around your town and do small jobs, like cleaning out gutters or shoveling snow (if you have snow) or do yard work, walk dogs, wash dogs or cars or even windows.. There are lots of possibilities if you put your mind to it. Instead of expecting everything to be done for you get out and find something to do that will bring in a little income. You will feel a million times better about yourself if you at least try to contribute something and give a little to your parents, after all, they carried you as long as you have been alive. Give a little back and be thankfull you have parents and enough food to keep you alive. COWGIRL UP sweetie. Blessed Be.

Oops...still meaning what I said,I would have phrased it a bit different being the chauvenist I am.Not that I wouldn't have been rude,I just would have suggested different less sexual ways of interacting with your neighbors,I apoligize for that. You're still a whiner.peace

Well, my mom made a good living on her back. YES, take it the way it sounds.

Give it a try. Pays good and you can make your own hours.

    "Money" by Choking Victim

I am sick and tired and my money's always spent,
and though their jobs are killing me, their money pays my rent.
The fuel of world hate, although it's just a seed,
but when it grows and flowers, it becomes the world's greed!
money for the rich, money for the fed,
god supplies the money and god supplies the dead!
And when yer dead and ready, "exploited" be thy name,
'cause after you have money things are never quite the same!
I don't care for money, and money's not for me,
the money fueled this empire and our racist history.
Although I'm forced to use it, the rules have all been set.
But life is not worth living when yer soul is in debt!
    MONEY KILLS.
    MONEY RAPES.
    MONEY LIES.
    MONEY HATES.

Personally it's not that I hate money, i hate what money does to people, it's our own inherit flaw to desire everything. Not to sound bhuddist, but no desire, no suffering.

i think it'd be much better if everyone just traded. that wa everyone'd have their own trade and with any luck our society would go back to some form of sanitary middle ages...

I'd like to be one of those non-materialistic hippies that hate money, but sadly, despite my lack of it, I want it... I need it... I love shopping and finding groovy things and buying tons of incense and crystals and beaded curtains... I'm sorry... can't... help... it...

yea well... I'm rather shallow :) lol I'd like to think that if I come in to millions... hell I'll be happy with hundreds, or even tens... that I'll put it to good use and won't let it ruin me....

Ideally, money wouldn't exists. But we don't live in a ideal world.

But if you want the people to follow your way, which could be the hippy way...and that is a way without materliasm and money, then you have to start living that way too. Otherwise, you're just not convincing...It's just so much easier to follow than to lead in some aspects of life.

I don't have credit cards or even a checking account. I rarely spent much money on myself (was in NH for 5 months before I even got myself a jacket...from a thrift shop) Most of my money went to my kids for school clothes & school supplies & and to my son's first apartment. I pay cash for everything...no cash, no shopping

The point is the middle ages weren't sanitary. We can't go back without going all the way back.
