Well, I've set a target date - next week, on Tuesday, I'm going to try this. I'll wear some long pants, and the bf sandals, and we'll see. I hope I don't chicken out.

You'll never succeed in fixing a fear, if your goal is to do the things that someone who's terrified of something so fucking wimpy would do, and just survive...... unless you chicken out.

Take off your fuckin' shoes. This shit is wimpy, moreso that just wearing shoes.

You have SET A DATE when you're going to TRY wearing very long pants to hide your disgraceful fake shoes which in turn are to hide.... nothing? What the fuck's wrong with you?

No offence. But seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you? Take off your shoes and walk out the door, that's how you set a date.

These are a great idea, I bought a cute pair. I've always wondered how to get away with barefoot in public... yay!

Don't worry. You will chicken out.

No one is gonna see your bare feet or fake shoes.

    Unless you follow RooRshacks' advice.

Not the way I would put it, but he has a point. As the shoe advert says, just do it!

It's really not such a big deal that one has to schedule a day for it.... just try it, like wearing a different shirt.

Lol, I went to church barefoot and wearing barefoot sandals, I think maybe...3 people noticed. My pastor noticed and said: "Well Jesus walked around barefoot a lot too." (awesome guy)
Just chill darlin, and carry some flip-flops in your bag if you're worried.

they take some getting used to; they're made of beads and elastic, reds and blues, kind of a Native American-type pattern. they look cute!

Someone on my facebook uploaded a pic of her wearing these the other day is it likely she's a barefooter? I'm a bit shocked didn't think she was into it. I think its taking off as a fashion as there is many articles about them.

I think I will get a pair myself to wear in the office so I can feel the sensation of the carpet against my bare soles and toes while fooling my colleagues into thinking I'm wearing sandals..its win win lol

Yeah I think if I wear long black trousers I might get away with it. I think if I ever was full barefoot at my work I would probably rather sadly get complaints and even a warning :(

I have only been barefoot at work once due to the fact my flats I was wearing were damp and wet from the rain outside so took them off under my desk...I put my shoes back on when getting up but fuck the sensation of my naked feet on the carpet when I was sitting down at my desk was heaven!

I'm not bothered about dirt on the carpet from peoples shoes I get enough of dirt when I'm barefoot at clubs lol...in a weird way I kind of like the fact they can get dirty makes me really stand out!! :p

It's a shame you could get into trouble being barefoot at work even for a short time. You should not be bothered getting your feet dirty as like you said you get them dirty anyway by barefooting. Well I do and it doesn't bother me. :sunny:

The barefoot sandals I have seen are really not all that convincing that they have any kind of a sole bed under the foot. I think they are more of a fashion statement albeit a popular one.

If you are concerned about an adverse reaction in your office you may want to consider wearing a pair of half-sole sandals (Capezio Sandasol) . These cover the ball of your foot but leave the toes and most of the heel directly in contact with the ground. In appearance they look like you are wearing a thong-type sandal but in reality you are half barefoot. I wear one in places that do not allow bare feet and so far never have been questioned. I find the toes and heel of my foot will become quite dirty after reasonable use.

Here is what they look like including my having one on my foot.
