I don't need to listen to someone like this Yvonne Ridley woman, who is very likely a Stockholm Syndrome case, explain why the Taliban aren't bad people, because I already know that they're the worst that humanity has to offer and the region of the world that they infest would be a better place if they all put guns in their mouths and pulled the trigger right now. They had a girl's nose cut off because she refused to marry the asshole her father chose for her. They pulled off a brutal reign of terror across Afghanistan for years. Why is it that you feel that you need to defend them? Do you think that if you admit that one group of Muslims are awful human beings, that you lose your entire argument? Or do you really, honestly believe that the Taliban are just a poor, misunderstood group of people who are really good at heart deep down inside?

If you do feel that way, keep in mind that they had girls executed for going to school.

I know nothing about this Ridley woman, but if she is a 'human rights activist' as you call her, then she wouldn't be defending the Taliban. Also, the argument that the Taliban aren't bad people because they treated her nicely is a little like somebody saying Hitler wasn't as bad as people say he was because he loved dogs.

Sounds as though the inquisitions are a pretty good parallel to the Holocaust, so there's your Nazi comparison.
Now the similarity to the KKK is also found in the Inquisitions, except not as racially motivated as the KKK, the Roman Church believed/believes that it is fine to torture and kill those with opposing IDEAS. But there was also a pretty good amount of racial prejudice that was expressed during the inquisitions as well.

I think the revelations and practices of the Roman Church over just the last few decades should be evidence enough concerning this topic and is rather self-evident.

As Manservant said, the individual acts of molestation are individual acts, the complicity of the church is in hiding it, moving priests to different areas when accusations have been made, and outright lying about the scope of the problem.
