So my cousin has been on methadone for a while and received his strips i guess for the week. He says it's been three days since his last dose at the clinic... I wanna say the last dose was 22mg I know he was around 80 or 90 mg daily. I saw him do atleast 60mg of oxy Thursday night which he was gonna save for today but didn't.... So the story was he was sick this morning and took 2 sub strips at 8mg apiece..... Would that cause a severe withdraw, bad enough that he was worried enough that he supposedly went to the hospital.? Or are they telling me a load of shit to score pills from me at a family rate. I don't mind it once and a while helping out but I'm starting to feel like I'm being taken advantage of, the past 3 dr visits I had they have called me looking for shit..... Dont think that is just a coincidence, and it's always we are sick as hell do u have anything.? Not familiar at all with subs and only took methadone like twice to bridge between dr appointments. Can u all give ur input, thoughts, concerns, stories. Thanks in advance!
The way I heard it explained is that Suboxone has a strong affinity but low activity for opiate receptors. So if you take something like Methadone, and then Suboxone, the Subs will "kick out" the Methadone, but since the Subs don't activate the receptors as strongly you'll go into withdrawal. That's why you're supposed to wait a while before starting Subs. And since Methadone stays in your system longer you'd have to wait even longer. At least that's what I was told. That doesn't mean that people aren't trying to take advantage of you though. If people are addicted and find out you have a prescription, look out.
I had a sub dr. tell me that you need to be in full withdrawal, I,m talking 18-20 hrs. since your last high before you take suboxone or you will go into 100% full wd. instantly. Something about how the brain receptors react. Serious stuff if you don,t wait long enough.
Since 930 I've had 8 missed calls and 4 texts from him i mean I feel bad but.... I got my own fucking problems lol shit hardly lasts long enough with just me and I'm passed my amount I can get rid of... Not to mention it literally took 15 minutes for me to get up outta bed and get shit moving lol...... Those knee injections the dr was talking about sound lil tempting now lol Wednesday I just wanted my script lol
You can try explaining that you can't get rid of any more, but it probably won't do any good. They'll keep asking. When you leave your house make sure everything is locked up. I once had a guy offer me $100 for 5 10mg Hydrocodones. Seriously. And I turned him down, because I had to. If I'd given in he would never have left me alone. I really don't know what to tell you, except to keep it under lock and key, and make sure your doors are locked when you leave home. Hopefully he'll finally get settled in with the Suboxone and quit bugging you.
Chop, that would absolutely throw him into severe withdrawals. If done was his flavor, regardless of weather he feels sick, he was no where near in withdrawals due to Done's long half life. I wouldn't have touched Subs until day 3 after stopping Done! Just my 2 cents! BTW, get his some Done to get him right then let him know, Done withdrawals take a while to be fully in withdrawal, THEN and only then should he take Subs, and Only 8mgs!
porkchop, are you talking about Supartz injections for the knee? I had them before. It was a once a week injection that went on for 5 weeks. 5 in all. I had BCBS insurance at the time and they would only cover part of bill. I had to pay $150.00 out of pocket each time I went. $750.00 when it was all said and done. Did not help with pain much but I noticed when I,d get out of bed in morning I could start walking right away. Before shots I,d sit on edge of bed and push down on my knee and leg just to get it to straighten out. Injections seemed to last a couple to 3 months as I recall. If you do get them tell them you want to lay down for them instead of sitting up. Laying down the injection goes in side of knee. Sitting up it goes sort of in the front part of knee. Everyone whos had this procedure that I,ve spoken with agrees laying down is less painful. It doesn,t hurt that bad anyways but I,ll take less pain anyday!
long before there was subs. there was Talwin. I was taking opiate for a shoulder injury , when a doctor suddenly switched it.. I was ready to kill that fucking doctor. lucky the ortho switched it right back.. yeah it made me sick and violent..
Yes... you can get violently ill from taking suboxone too soon. It happened to me before that I was throwing up and then dry heaving and unable to get out of bed... had to keep taking my socks on and off cause i had the most fucked up chills n hot flashes going on. And I had went from methadone to suboxone before... I didn't get sick when I started the subs from the meth however I waited 3 days-and for me I was SICK at that point. The main thing imho is with suboxone...that IF you feel truly sick, you won't get sick. But if you're just a lil yawny but not truly sick you may or will get sick.
