Haha, no. I'm pretty sure it was suppose to be in there. Like the kiddie-porn guy had the initials of JC, which are also the initials of Jesus Christ. This makes him symbolic of the anti-christ, which is said to come to earth right before the world ends, which it did.
I have this movie, and I LOVE it. It left me stunned [and a bit confused] the first few times I watched it, but it's amazing!
it is a definite watch. I'm not quite to the point where I'd by it, but it has some good lines. Some parts just dont build me up enough to watch it, but hey, for a movie based mostly around a bunny they did pretty good. CHUT UP!! CHUT UP!!!
Did you work any of it out...i posted that lik earlier but no answers yet...erm maybe i did not ask for advice
this movie fucking kicked ass. it was so trippy. i love the ambiguous ending. i personally think he was just mad and doomed. that's all. just simple. perhaps there's some parallel universe shit too thats why he knew he was going to die. who knows!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!!??!!??! jake g is hot.
The wormhole. . . If you go to the donnie darko website, you can read parts of roberta sparrow's book. It talks about an artifact, a metal object (the engine). The wormhole was transporting the artifact through time. That is why they couldn't figure out where it came from - it was from the future. As this is my own conclusion, I could be completely off, but hey, I tried.
I saw this movie about a year and a half to two years ago at a friends house. I went out and bought it the next day and have watched it numerous times since then.
BWAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT CHUT UP!!!!!!!!! THAT SHIT WAS FUNNNNNN-NY. poor girl though
I just saw this movie for the first time about a week ago. I thought it was pretty good. At first when I heard the title I thought it was some cheesy bullshit. But it turned out to be pretty good. Now I know why they call it a cult classic. It also surprised me to learn that Drew Barrymore was the exec. producer.
One of my friends had a theory that he was thinking of what his life would be if he had avoided death, as if he was seeing thru time.
i reckon am goin against the grain here. but i was told i'd really like it by lots of people who should know better. thought it was a crock o shit.
yeah... the medicine were placebo pills based on water... and water and fire are important motives in the story... like good and evil... It's a great movie, good to watch millions of times. Has anyone read the philosophy of time travel book? It's on the DVD and on the website (at the end)... kind of explains the whole movie. It's definitely not a 'crock o shit', like boog put it so elegantly, because there are many layers in it... it's a poetic kind of movie. But if it's not our style, then so be it, but don't call it a crock o shit.
irony is a huge theme in the movie. i only say so bluntly cuz i just saw it again and noticed something i hadnt, which is at the end, gretchen waves to donnies mom, and she waves back, but the neighboor, the little boy with the blond hair, waves, as if he thinks the mom is waving to him
