yeah, i've never had a problem with walmart's customer service. if anything, my complaint would be that they have too many employees with nothing to do, so they end up bothering you trying to help.

the whole "walmart is evil" argument used to piss me off to no end when i was managing pizza shops for about $2 an hour less than the lowest level walmart employees, who also had all kinds of benefits i didn't.

Maybe a charity could be set up to help the underpaid employees of Walmart.

    You handled it wrong.
If it were me and they were being total dickwads, I would calmly ask a few questions
    1) your full name
    2) store managers full name
    3) district managers full name

write that info down, write down particulars concerning shelf pricing, and what you charged, keep receipt.
Then just say thank, that's all the info I need to file a complaint with the board of weights and measures.

That is why so many stores will actually reward you if an item rings up at the wrong posted price and you bring it to their attention, each occurrence that a weights and measures audit finds is $1000 fine, so say they have 30 sku's mismarked in the store, that's $30,000 in fines.

I have seen store managers fired on the spot because of a bad audit.

So quit all your angry grandstanding and just put the fear of a costly audit into their managers nightmares.;)

p.s. my wife reported a store once for charging tax on baby formula after the manager laughed at her when she complained. Cost the store over $50,000 in fines because they got fined for each food item sku that was being charged sales tax. They didn't just audit the baby food, they audited the entire store. I know this because at the time I was a manager for another store in the chain a few miles away. I never did let them know it was my wife that reported it. :p

forgot to add, that prompted a region wide (So Cal) audit of the chain, luckily it was only the ineptitude of the one stores person in charge of applying the price changes and updates.

one time my wife make me wait throught the customer service line at walmart for like a dollar and some change...

after about six minutes, I showed my alpha side, grabbed her by the arm, said, "let's go, fuck this". as I walked out, I picked up a king sized snickers bar and walked the fuck out.. I'd have dared them to say something to me about it.

that place sucks, but it's beyond the boycott level.. you can't get morons to boycott anything...

As fucking connected as this society is, I'm appalled at the lack of knowledge of current events by anyone. I got this one friend, who is online like 18 hours a day, but he still has no idea what fukushima is, and when i tried to explain it to him, he looked at me like i was just making the shit up as i go along.. he knows nothing about benghazi, nuclear tuna, etc. He still thinks the video was the cause of benghazi, he still thinks LSD was the real drug that face eater in florida was on, he still thinks that we are in no danger of nuclear holocaust.

WTF does he do with his time on the computer? porn, and studying materials for college classes, that aren't even the ones he is enrolled in, as he fails his enrolled classes.

these are the people of walmart

but let me assure you he is the first one to tell you all about some other nonsensical shit.

i humbly submit that you may have missed the point.
if you respond in a mature, knowledgeable and effective way like that, then you don't get to jump up and down and go off on a tirade. which is more entertaining? :)

since when did K-Mart go out of business?

is that more 'telling it like it is' ?

relax bro and lets have more :sifone: and :grouphug: and less

Actually, I'm with you on this one Stp.

Should go out of business. But I don't judge people who shop there, because times are tough and it's super cheap. Business like walmart and banking conspiracies are the reason why times are so tough, but people need to do what they do to get by.

yes but if Walmart were to go out of business, how many multiple thousands of normal folks like you and I would be out of a job.

Answers aren't always as easy as knee-jerk "just fuck 'em!" reactions.

At what point does a business become large enough to be evil? 2 stores? 200?

I have always wondered this. Even mom & pop stores can be run by assholes.

It's not that Walmart is "evil" only because they're big. It's their practices that make them evil.

There was a good documentary put out a few years back, titled Walmart: The High Cost of Low Prices. I recommend that everyone check it out if they want to get a glimpse into how Walmart operates. It should be free to watch online.

Horrible company I do NOT do business with. Besides, the inside of their stores (most of them) are grotesque and smell bad. They are magnets for trashy people.

Every time I go into a Walmart (which I try to avoid..there's a Target right near it and the prices are just as good there so yea...) but anyways... every single time I end up in a walmart I just look around and think "where did all these people COME from?". It's like the ugliest, most fucked up looking people in the whole county are always in there. Just weird looking people. And I don't make fun of people's looks or anything but seriously... I just don't know where these ppl come from...

    and yea, fuck sprawlmart.

Anyways, yea, I just watched it on there.

Ya know a lot of people say this about the people who shop at Walmart, I call bullshit.

Of course you will have different clientele at Walmart then you will at JC Penny's, but that is simply because of the different targeted economic demographic groups.
Whenever I have been at Walmart, (I rarely go, my main bitch is over the quality of products), I see the same mix of people I see at
Target and other similar type of stores.
I think a lot of you "see" only inbred slobs because you read shit like in these threads and then are preconditioned to notice the slobs more than the other "normal" folks.
It really is a rather common psychological phenomena, like you never noticed the brand of car you drive until the day you got it, then you see them everywhere. Same thing at work.

What I see at stores like Walmart are folks just like me that have gotten bent over and fucked hard by the shit economy and are simply trying to make their buck go farther. Don't hate on people because they want a bargain and may have no other viable alternatives.

I despise Walmart because they practice strongarm economic tactics with local business' and practice the same slimy scheduling bullshit that most retailers do, but not because the customers are poor.

BUT, if the companies objective is to make money and be profitable, they are doing the right things, can't completely fault them for being profitable, but I do choose to not shop there.

Did I mention the quality is shit?
