ok, I don't really think I'm dumb, but I make my fair share of dumb mistakes. Maybe other people make just as many or more and don't fess up. So anyway, I'm in this bar watching the world series. I ask some guy why the pitcher is batting. No response. I ask again. He just says "national league home game", and it's kind of obvious that I don't know shit about baseball. Well, I guess it's no wonder, since I'm not a baseball fan. Looked kinda dumb though.
it was either "I don't want to waste my time with you" or an act of mercy, hoping I'd just let the whole thing go and no one would notice
no, you're just from the netherlands http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitcher europeans aren't really into baseball too much
Yeah baseball isn't big here. Or more like it, it is non-existent here as far as I know. Thanks for the link though, I might study it when I have some time.
Maybe just happy? The national league doesn't use DH, only American league. When National league and American League play eachother, the rules of the home team apply.
In baseball, the designated hitter rule is the common name for Major League Baseball Rule 6.10,[1] adopted by the American League in 1973. The rule allows teams to have one player, known as the designated hitter (abbreviated DH), to bat in place of the pitcher. Since 1973, most collegiate, amateur, and professional leagues have adopted the rule or some variant. MLB's National League and Nippon Professional Baseball's Central League are the most prominent professional leagues that do not use a designated hitter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Designated_hitter
