**meant to put this politics section....I messed up :( **

Supporters of Bradley Manning are no longer allowed to wear plain t-shirts, reading only one word on the entire shirt, "TRUTH." Truth, is being dubbed propaganda and is prohibited in the court at Fort Meade.

I can't help but think of the irony and scary symbolism here. First I understand that he released the largest amount of classified documents in history. We know he did that, but he unveiled widespread military and political corruption. We can not be free if we do not know the truth.

Just thought people should know that TURTH is now propaganda....

(I do not have a link, I get updates from a Bradley Manning support group.)

A link to your source would have been nice. If true I wouldn't be surprised. The military is accustomed to defining anything it wants.

"Nevertheless, prosecutor Maj. Ashden Fein assured Judge Lind that no member of the public has ever been excluded from viewing Bradley’s proceedings. He didn’t happen to mention a last-minute restriction imposed on attendees: though they’ve been allowed for more than a year of pretrial proceedings, ‘Truth’ t-shirts were banned from the courtroom today, as were “Bradley Manning shirts or any other propoganda,” according to one gun-toting soldier. Pressed about the new limitation, one soldier told the Support Network’s Emma Cape that the decision was made from someone “very high up” and that he figured it was related to increased media access."

I got this from word of mouth, I have a friend up at Fort Meade right now. I apologized for not having a link in my original post.
As far as military defining things, there is no joking about that. If you check out the democracy now link I posted below, they discuss how the media will be able to cover the trial and how the military is defining the rights of journalists. It's at the very end, beginning at 55:55

Thank you for sharing and having a link!!! It makes me angry too!

For some coverage of trial, check out this link:

Democracy Now is a daily, international, not for profit, news-hour and they discussed the trial for 16 minutes. In this show they have excerpts of Daniel Ellsberg’s (Pentagon Papers whistleblower) speech at Fort Meade on Saturday, Julian Assange, and several other people. Amy Goodman, the host covers a lot, even discussing the how the media will be covering the trial.

It's worth watching the whole 16 minutes, in my opinion :)

Democracy Now! is my main media source. All shows are archived by date and topic!

Also just anyone interested, Amy Goodman (host and Executive Producer of Democracy Now) along with Julian Assange and Glenn Greenwald (The Guardian) have filed a lawsuit against the Department of Defense and the military judge overseeing the case, over the secrecy in the trial (the anonymous witnesses etc…)

The hypocrisy of the whole matter is just overwhelming... A country that is obnoxiously vocal about how FREE and JUST they are, launches an ILLEGAL war on another country based on LIES. Receives no consequences for causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. This country that gets away with MURDER and LIES without even impeaching their president, wants to put a young man in prison for life for exposing a few of their manslaughterous mistakes!

Land of the free, home of the brave?
    Truth is a dirty word,
when you're lying murderous and corrupt to the core.
What a sick pathetic government, what a putrid hypocrisy!

One Of My Cats Just Jumped Up On My Puuuter Desk And

Exclaimed Loudly, That HE Was Indeed, The Real BRADLEY MANNING....

I Found That Just A Trifle Odd, Because On His Papers It Clearly States

That His Registered Name Is "Paddington"...:willy_nilly:

    Cheers Glen.
