Here's a scenario for you and I ask for your opinions.

You're out in the wilderness, pick a location you prefer, and you're having sex.
    Is that wrong?
Does it matter how you're doing it?
Does it matter who you're doing it with?

What is the difference if it's a man and woman?

Or if it's a man and a man?

Or perhaps it's a woman and a woman?

Or maybe it's just you banging yourself?

Just so long as you're in a location where you expect a reasonable amount of privacy...does any of that matter?

And a quickie for the politically correct- in this discussion it is consensual with legal-age participants.

If you get a root in the forest but no one is around to hear, it means you didnt make her moan

There's always somebody watching..where do you think voyeur porn comes from?

Yes, creepy old men are jerking off to your escapade with that tranny you thought no one knew about.

One time I was out in the woods being amorous with my girlfriend, and I swear there was a squirrel in a tree watching us and jerking off. Or maybe that was just the effects of the mushrooms.

It's all fine as long as it's a secluded spot.

To be politically correct: I don't know what the law says about it in your place ;).

I talked with a fella I that I knew in another town, and he told me of a time I was out camping. Nothing special, right? Well, turned out where I was camping was watched by a game camera. No biggie, I just wish folks didn't put that crap out in a national forest.
Anyhow he told me what was seen, and the camera "caught" me, well, spanking my monkey. He told me how sick and repulsive it was. I'm thinking like, dude, you have no idea.

So I asked him, is it? What would it matter if I was fucking a woman? What if I, being a man, was fucking a man? Hell, what if I was fucking a goat? What does it matter if I was masturbating? I was "doing it" "there" because I expected some reasonable form of privacy. Is it any more ethical what other people think or is it ethical to keep their fucking noses out of it and not have game cameras watching unimproved/dispersed campsites?

From my experience I can say I really don't see a need for game cameras watching those places because more often than not the game will avoid campsites. Well, deer, elk, at least. Coyotes and mountain lions, different story, and then it also depends on the camping habits used. I consider myself a "clean camper" to minimize animal visitors.

Well, he was pretty disgusted by it and upset telling me how immoral it is. Immoral? More immoral than, perhaps, snooping on the private doings of campers on USFS lands without telling them? I betcha it's far less.

I'm thinking I'm gonna call the ranger district that was in and ask about it.

I know for sure that in my country the law states there has to be a sign, when there's a camera somewhere.

I think you should look into it. Good luck :)

Ok, I did talk to a ranger and he told me that technically anytime you are in public, you are on camera. Forest included. So I'm taken aback. We discussed it a bit and he said my best option is to write my congressman and try to have it changed.

It can be, I think. If people want to watch game on cameras, fine. But you won't find deer or elk or antelope around campsites (very often). The only reason someone will monitor a campsite is if they are looking for something that's none of their business.

Seriously though. Is masturbation immoral? I don't see it like that.

No, it's not. No one has to watch you doing it, though. But when you think you're alone in the first place...

Big Brother is watching. I wish you good luck with changing it :).

I think it was a few years ago that people here realized that security cameras on private properties film the sidewalks and part of the property that's not private, as well. Since then it has become mandatory, that anyone with a security camera, which films public places, has to have a clearly visible sign about it put on the filmed location.

It's not wrong to have sex in the wilderness.

It matters to an extent in terms of how, because rape wouldn't be cool.

As for who with, if you two are happy, then I say it wouldn't matter. Although, cheating should generally be avoided, just because, I personally think, you should play fair.

But it doesn't make any difference whether your partner is male, female, or just yourself.

It's sex, unless you're into some extreme stuff like inflicting pain on your partner, or being on the receiving end of that, or whatever, then it shouldn't matter.

As for the surveillance camera issue with the guy... That is disgusting on so many levels! First off, you're in the wilderness where you essentially shouldn't have to come across those things in the first place. It doesn't make much sense to have game cameras set up on a campsite precisely because of what you've pointed out. I've gone hiking deep in the woods(regional nature park type area) where there are sometimes bear or cougar sightings, but these sightings are likely to occur REALLY high up, and deep in the woods. And I don't think the park I've gone to have surveillance cameras set up in the woods, either. If there are any, then I'm sure there would be signs as Lively has said.

And who did he think he was to tell you he thought it was sick, immoral, blah. Excuse me when I say, somebody's insecure about his sexuality. *facepalm* I mean, everyone masturbates. If you don't want to see someone jerking off, then you're perfectly free not to look. And you have a choice not to comment on what you've accidentally seen. It's disgusting and immoral not because you were masturbating in the woods, but because the cameras are placed there without any respect to the privacy of the campsite users in mind, AND because the dude had a sick and immoral perception about masturbation, AND it's sick and immoral because your government allows this.

People get away from the civilization to enjoy the simplicity and tranquility, and perhaps improved privacy, of the wilderness, only to encounter further instruments of civilization monitoring what goes on in nature. Pretty soon some squirrels caught mating on those "game cameras" would be considered "sick and immoral" display of animal sexuality if society kept going down this road.

I am new here and seeking some advice. I have a female friend, actually a third cousin that has lost her husband acouple of years ago. I visited her a few times while consoling her and over time we got fr iendly and eventually it led to sex. We have been doing that for several months now and I think we should break it off. My wife is also gone.

    Comments?

My comment: that's off-topic on this thread, isn't it... Unless, of course, you two go out into the woods, have sex, then some surveillance guy tells you afterward that the game cam caught you two having sex, and proceeds to give you a lecture on how it's sick and immoral that any civilized human would do such impure act in the wilderness. Then it would be on-topic I think.
