oaxaca is awsome... a bit touristic though, but worth it , mostly if you go on ashes wednesday, or for the mezcal.

Try the cocktail called el "lleno de llamas". bursts your head.

Or Playa del Carmen... for a few days, a good compromise if you think cancun sucks (like i do).

or agua Azul, stunning waterfalls in chiapas.

Yes it is, mainly playa azul as well as lazaro cardenas. Ive packed and also driven both coasts as well as central mexico. Many mis judge the awsome views and people in mexico.

I find it as a second home. All of mexico is nice but not thrilled about durango, its in the middle of no place and lots of crazy mountain driving for nothing. The southern desert isnt too much fun....its like a hot hot utah.

I spent day in the moutains on the drive to oaxaca looking down on the clouds....now I miss the place.

One of my best memories is driving on the main highway along the southern coast and it was late and I stopped to rest only to see the moon lighting up a vally with houses everywhere in the vally and up the hills.

If you ever go take your own food, or be fucked up for a bit.
