Ever wondered why primitive societies don't seem to have the perverts issue, perhaps it's because they maybe killed off by tribal people but could it also be because of the societal structure itself that might be causing the pervert problems? If western society's structure was to be changed then maybe the problem would go away and even if the west was a nudist society you would probably still have a pervert problem like you said clothes don't stop perverts.

Another point to consider is the very idea of 'perverts', and the way to deal with the idea. This creates an unending cycle of revolving door hyper vigilence and subsequent neuroticism that becomes labelled as 'pervert', then criminilised, increasing hyper vigilence and social paranoia - reconstructing and maintaining a very questionable social order. Naturedude - I'm afraid you have reproduced and maintained that system...

I think some of the larger cites could set aside areas where clothing was optional . Like a nude beach , or park. Hear in Arizona being naked and cacti could be a problem .

The problem is that in the wider community there is no real demand and sometimes a lot of hostility. Nudity in public will never be totally legal however it would be nice to have more places where you can go nude if you want to and more options at quieter times in public swimming pools and saunas.

In the UK (weather permitting) people are getting braver on quieter beaches but it will take a long time to change the culture. Prosecutions are rare as long as you don't push it too far.

Seems to be the big issue regarding going naked in public, perverts......Define Perverts? is it someone who does something sexual that others disapprove of? in which case everyone on the planet is a Pervert.

In England this "pervert" stuff isn't relevant at all. When people have been arrested for nudity in public recently it doesn't usually involve any kind of accusation of sexual activity. The charge has always been the Public Order Act, where someone "uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby."

Nudity shouldn't and will never be allowed on all our beaches but it is wrong to close all beaches or at least 99% of them who want to be nudist,

It is kinda rediculous that people get punished for not wearing clothes. While clothes do have their function, since we lost most of our body hair and it's just not pleasant in wintertime to walk around naked outside, I believe that forcing clothes on us is very puritan and unnatural. Worse even, the body is seen as something 'dirty' and 'bad'. Humanity is so far removed from it's nature that it becomes rediculously laughable if you think about it.

I can only speak for the UK. On many quieter beaches you can go nude providing that you behave properly as you have to behave on one of the very few official naturist beaches. I doubt that any us really would want complete freedom to go nude anywhere all the time, however, there should definitely be more options and not just beaches. Secluded areas in parks, quieter times in public swimming pools and any time in saunas and steamrooms. One problem with the law is that nudity is not explicitly forbidden and in fact is essentially legal so long as no is offended, the issue is that you never really know if you are likely to offend.

In Santa Cruz, CA. - where I grew up - it is completely legal to be 100% nude on any city street - as long as you don't display visible signs of arousal or conduct lewd behavior.
There is actually an MC (Motorcycle Club) there called the Vampires - and part of their initiation is that you have to take part in one of their downtown naked rides. These alway happen on a Saturday, and it is awesome - you can be on one end of the main drag (Pacific Ave.) and from the opposite end you will hear the faint sound of revving engines and cat calls/hooting. That's when you know the Vampires are coming - Naked. It gets louder and louder as they progress down the street and the hordes of onlookers and shoppers hoot holler and snap pictures. When they pass it is usually at least 20 or more Bikes, all with at least 1, often 2 nude riders - nothing but a helmet. - Awesome!!

Funnily - being in the weed game - you often have issues with the police - especially if you are local and they know what you do. Anyhoo, one day a friend of mine I'd grown up with got back to town after 7 months at a grow op in Shasta. From the minute he hit the street - every cop that saw him would ask - 'What's in the backpack Mike?'
This happened 3 or 4 times, and finally he got fed up with it. Since he wasn't carrying an amount that was unlawful, he decided to empty his bag for them - 'You wanna see what's in the bag' he said. Then - amazingly he started to take off his shirt - 'Not good enough' he said, 'Wanna see what I'm carrying', and he stripped down to nothing - his clothes and pack contents splayed out on a bench - where he then sat. Well - of course - his bros (me included) were laughing our asses off, taking pictures, etc - then - 2 more squad cars pulled up - and they arrested him.
'WTF', he said - 'you can't arrest me for being naked downtown' - onlookers gathered, the cuffs went on - we protested. 'You're right' said one of the cops, 'we can't arrest you for being naked - but we can arrest you for stripping'.......

Turns out - stripping is considered lewd behavior. Boy was my bro pissed. So if you ever go to Santa Cruz, enter the street naked - if you take off your clothes on the street - you're violating the law.....

Its so sad to see Barcelona and San Francisco lose their legal nudity status, I hope Santa Cruz doesn't meet the same fate.

    I agree completely.

There's a time and place for everything. The simple fact is that most people in the Western countries do not want general nudity in their midst, and society, for the most part, is run by the wishes of the majority. So unless the majority wants nudity, it will not happen except in specific locations and settings.

Personally, I don't see much of a problem with this. Life is full of situations where various kinds of behavior is unwelcome and even illegal. Nudity is no different.

As long as there are times and places where our ability to take off our clothes is not suppressed, I don't see a problem.

I think nudity should at least be legal and accepted on most if not all beaches.

Can't we just be naked in our homes, nudist colonies, nude beaches, and swingers clubs?
I don't want to a nice restaurant and be surrounded by naked flesh.
