I've been doing some research on different/cheaper shampoos that would work as well. Does anyone have any experience with other brands besides Dr. Bronner's mentioned in the Sticky FAQ? Organix? Aveda? Yes to Carrots? I really like Organix and I have a bottle of the Coconut Milk of that. I also like Aveda. I've used Yes to Carrots before and although I particularly didn't like the way it left my hair, that was also with my regular undreaded hair. I may like it with the dreads. Who knows. I just wanted to get some input on my options for shampoos. Thanks!!
I use the red cinnamony smelling bar from lush. Sometimes b'king soda. Sometimes just water. I can't really tell the difference too much. Diluted some t-gel a few times to help with dandruff. It worked pretty well. If I'm feeling fancy il opt for some pop rocks.
I find that going swimming in chlorine pool really helps rid your hair of past residues. It is a good way to get out any remaining conditioner that may be in your hair.
Try finding the level of water hardness in your area, that could be a big factor too with the amount of residue in your hair. I honestly use California Baby Tea Tree and Lavender shampoo. It is a bit pricey but it is concentrated so one bottle lasts a long time. A deep cleanse with baking soda and ACV should cut residue down too. Just look at the ingredients and do your research. And you will end up finding your favorite shampoo.
I have been using an Irish Spring bar of soap. Every once in a while, I use this 2 in 1 wash from Bath and body works. It's the Citron one. I normally wouldn't use something that unnatural, but my GF works there and gets it dirt cheap. I only use it if they start smelling funky or something. It gives a good clean feeling.
I use seanick from lush. It has a lot of the same ingredients that the "all natural" dread tightening stuff does and rinses clean. C/S, Rev J
Three Years And Ten Months Here, And Iv'e Used Nothing But Baking Soda, Couldn't Be Happier...:2thumbsup: Cheers Glen.
