In this dream, a friend of mine and I are walking around a large city, a city that isn't familiar to me or apparently to him. We walk into a particularly tall and large building and it is filled with people eating yellow cake. We start to eat the cake, and then I remember that my friend is diabetic. (This is true in waking life.) I rush to tell him to stop eating the cake. A woman gives me a disgusted look and says that where we are, anybody can eat anything. In waking life, my friend is Spanish and speaks no English, and I struggle for the Spanish word for cake. He gives me a funny look, and he says that where we are everybody can speak every language. Perhaps I'm the exception here, because I can't find the right word for cake in Spanish. Someone else says that if you don't like the yellow cake here, you can go across the street where they're eating something else that nobody wants. In waking life, I had just resumed contact with this friend after something like twenty years. Maybe that has something to do with the interpretation of the dream.
strange places are good. they remind us that not everything is as we are familiar with ourselves and everyone we know, imagining it to be.
Perhaps it means something relevant to your exploratory nature? I dream of Camaros alot, and hate them... With the world offering custom edible images for cakes and such, perhaps our dreams of eating China could come true? lol
