Hello all. I have recently had a bit of a battle with some Walmart greeters during which the store manager actually backed me up. I know, I was surprised too, and he did it in such a fashion as to help me calm down very quickly from a fairly agitated frame of mind. He told me he would make it clear to all staff during their next "morning meeting" that Walmart has no policy barring barefoot patrons (thanks to user "mr manager", a real Walmart manager, for informing us that Walmart definitely has no policy), and that I was not to be harassed anymore. I then brought up the idea of writing a letter for him to approve and then sign, which I could produce to educate any new staff hired after that meeting without having to call a manger every couple of weeks. He agreed that this was a good idea, so I am now working on such a letter and would like some help with the wording. I especially wouldn't mind some input from StraightToes, who has a wonderful way of putting things in these types of letters which makes a point strongly yet concisely. Any (constructive) input would be appreciated!

it's jsut a shame not all wal-mart managers all over the country are not aware of this. I think out of all the places i ever get harrassed for going bf ..Wal-Mart is #1
I've been called out a few times at a few different stores, but Wally Mart has never been one of them.
There are so many policies a manager and associate has to learn that the average manager won't know it unless some tells them. It's really not worth writing a letter about but informing the associate that approaches you and ask them to refer to the 'Wire' this in itself will squash any problems.
