I bought into it for a while, but after a while I realized there's just things that don't add up here.... i.e. the innocent 5 yr old child who gets shot and killed mistakenly in a driveby... was that his karma? Was he doing/thinking bad shit and somehow brought that upon himself? Or the diseased children in Africa who die shortly after birth due to disease, improper third world medical care, and starvation... I think the notion gets a little funky when you attribute karma across the board to situations like that. But maybe I'm missing something? Do you know what I'm saying? It's a nice concept, but in reality I don't know how true it is. I think what is often referred to as the phenomena of karma really just depends more on probability, circumstance, action and sheer dumb luck.

Not to use that as an excuse for apathy.... I think we should all go out of our way to help our fellow brothers and sisters, regardless of whether or not rewards and payback are involved.

But then again who knows, the universe is a strange strange place and full of synchronicity and anomaly...

Yeah I do believe in karma. But people use as a source of revenge. Like someone will piss them off and they say "karma is a bitch". They are hopping karma will be their revenge and that is the wrong way to look at it. To me it is more the law of attraction, if you have positive energy you will attract positive things. But you can not assume that every act you deem wrong will necessarily attract a "punishment" you think it deserves. But negative energy also attract negative so in the end that person is ending up with something. But for you to wish revenge is only dragging yourself down to that persons level.

The examples you mention remind me of when people say "how can god exist with so much suffering". Death comes when it needs to, there are no accidents. The 5 year old's time had come. They say only the good die young, but the nasty old man no one likes will be 90. Your also assuming the physical world is the place to be, like it is a punishment to leave it. Maybe it is just the opposite.

 

I don't think you should do go deeds with the notion that you should be rewarded with karma or whatever. Do nice things because you're a nice person and want to do nice things with no expectations in return.

..I think it is a reward within itself to be humble

 

But yes, humans are indeed (selfish) assholes.

especially cause you are shook up and scared after a wreck

hella stoners....i was in court all day dealling with junior...the smokin hot provincial cop came up to me and started a conversation...told me her name....

she could not have had better timing because i was standing there with my ex...juniors mom is taking him for a bit till he has an attitude change

i dont envy him...he's only seen her once in 8-9 years and talked to him a half dozen times tops.....they came close to blocking her taking him.....i had to give my blessing....i'll try anything at this point

this sort of blows, I can only commit myself to this company til January.. now that I think about it. I feel ya. Sex is easy to come by but I want a long term relationship too. I'm sick of dating and meaningless sex. It just seems like a waste of time.
