I've been into various forms of rock; metal, alternative, punk, etc. and for the last decade or so have wanted to grow my hair to longer than shoulder length. It took a couple of years to get it to that length, and I really like it; I've been told by a few acquaintances that it suits me, which has encouraged me to hold onto it. There's a very long period, when growing it, where it looks awful - and so I regard it as having been hard work to have refrained from getting a haircut for so long. However, I am concerned that it might be a turn-off for guys? Everything else about me is pretty much 'straight acting'; I work out, have a deep voice, mannerisms, etc.. But I guess I'm a bit worried that this might be seen as a feminine characteristic and so would not appeal to most men? Any thoughts are appreciated :2thumbsup:
I had long hair for a short stint. I got just as much play then as I do with short hair. It's all about confidence. Just do you.
My hair is long too and I've not had a problem with guys so I would keep it. Tbh I find it a big turn on when a guy grabs a handful of hair and helps me go down on him. If you like dressing up fem too then the long hair makes that more realistic and fun too.
long hair doesn't make a guy feminine. i don't know where that myth comes from. i like guys i like, whether they have short hair, long hair, dark hair, light hair.....it doesn't matter. the guy matters. there either is an attraction between me and a guy or there isn't. hair length doesn't undo it or create it where there's none of it.
Would you really want to date someone that's turned off by long hair since you like it enough to grow it out and it seems to suit you? Long hair won't make a masculine man seem feminine. If you own your look you'll do fine.
I look better with my hair cut short - easier to keep neat & tidy & doesn't get blown about all the place in the wind.
Firmly agreed. Peter Steel had long hair and there was nothing girly about that man and in my opinion, his long hair was part of the appeal. Plenty of samurai, viking, and native american men kept long hair and were no less manly warriors for it. For me, that has a lot to do with the appeal I find in watching historic dramas. And of the first committed gay couple I met directly, both men had long hair, and both also were not only quite masculine but also participated in the same historic recreation group i am part of so it never occurred to me to associate the hair with femininity. If anything, in the context they looked all the more in place for it. Given the music scene of your interest the same could apply to you.
Personally long hair is a huge turn-off for me, but if you like it yourself you should keep it, the right guys will appreciate it
