Recently, McDonald's and Visa teamed up to launch a website that is intended to help employees of McDonald's manage their money.

The aspect of the website that is getting a tremendous amount of national attention is the "McDonald's Budget" which is a sample monthly budget which is designed to help workers plan their spending.

    The sample budget looks like-

    WTF? Seriously.

Do we need this kind of advice?

Maybe they assume you get all the McDonalds you can eat.

    LOL

Right. and maybe, that's the reason you need $20 a month
    for Health Insurance?

There are so many holes in that budget. For one they mention car payment but no car insurance or no money allotment for gasoline.
As mentioned, there is no food budget.
Health insurance costs more than $20/month. For our family of 3 we pay over $200/month. They list no other medical so apparently you can't use the health insurance to see a doctor or pay for rx's and you don't have medical bills.
    Heat/electric costs more than that.
Add internet to cable/phone and it costs another $50 or more a month.
No, there is no child care listed.
Nor is there a listing for water sewer and trash, which some people don't pay but we do, even though we rent and that is $100/month.
Nor is there a listing for basic things like clothing or emergency car repairs, etc.
But, yeah, no food...tssk tsssk... that's at least $400 a month.
    That budget is so screwed.
    You'd have $0 spending a day... not $27...
Oh, and Heaven Forbid if you have child support, student loans, credit care payments, fines or anything else..

I wish my rent was only $600.

Also I can't wait until this lease is up, so I can buy again.

Yeah, we pay $700 a month and need to move in a few months to somewhere bigger...can't take this place much longer...
and most places (for rent) include w/s/t in it and not here so since that's not included it's more like $800.
that budget is just so wacky.

Ha...yea, maybe all the stuff they didn't include (such as um...food), you're supposed to be using your visa credit for. That explains it then.

$1200 over here. I live in an oil rigging town, so the housing market is ridiculous.

I suspect, they have deliberately made this shit budget, so that you find faults, compare with your actual expenses and plan on your own- in a better way.

    Maybe?

What's kinda funny is they are admitting they pay so little that you need to go out and find a second job.

what the hell kind of insurance plan can you get for $20 a month? I pay $137 every two weeks for my son and me. I wonder if Mcdonalds even offers health insurance.

    I know right?

I remember being a kid and ran out of gas. I had no money and was desperate and lucky one of those pump first places was across the street. So took my gas can, found the furthest pump from the cashier and filled it with gas. It was enough has to start the car and get home.
