There has never existed a more over-fed, lazy and decadent society in the history of humanity. Today if soldiers came breaking down the door to get a man... I'll wager that more than half of soon to be dead blokes would be desperately trying to stuff one last pork pie in their mouths and getting in one last toss to their collection of Ruby Goe photographs.

 

What are you doing to change the current situation?

 

I saw a documentary about this back in like 2005. This isn't new to the public.

 

I saw a documentary years ago too. It was about a man called Darwin.

I warned people years ago and they didn't listen. I'm still meeting people who in one breath condemn the spying and then ask me for my facebook account.

Therefore I say let Darwinism take over. Because obviously the average bloke is just too stupid to change.

So as it stands I'm now in favor of this entire spying and cataloging of citizens. Because perhaps if large portions of the population spent some time in hellish work camps or got wiped out in medical experiments... Futre generations might not be so willing to sell their souls for a handful of stupid comments and a free porn video.

I wear my burka with pride and I'm so out of here at the end of this year. You can call me a pessimist but I've just come to realize that the slob stuffing porkies in his mouth just isn't my problem.

That was in reference to a few others who were boasting about being in the know. I was commenting on how sometimes it takes an easily digestible piece of information to start a public conversation.

You need to chill out on that Obama thing, you're obsessed. No, I don't think much of our spy in chief after he has publicly defended those programs and passed laws to put these kinds of programs in place.

People are aware and awake about our federal government, and I have hope that a revolution is coming; hopefully peaceful but who knows...

I just simply worry about the communist/ leftist ideals because they support big government, and allows for abuses of our liberty and Constitution.

I'm in my 20s and my generation makes me sick. Taken as a whole, we're stupid, lazy and narcissistic. When my mother asked me why I'm going to marry a man 20 years older than I am... I only had to point to the park outside her window. Why would any sane and self-respecting woman want to be in a relationship with anyone from today's youth.

Let's be honest here - Oliver Stone is a raving lunatic who hasn't made a good movie since Any Given Sunday, which was almost fifteen years ago. Also, he's ignoring the fact that young people use the internet to protest. Shooting down SOPA was young people on the internet. We just organize and operate in different ways than the previous generations, and the fact that Stone sees that as apathy is really just further proof that he's way out of touch with the modern era. Also, Alexander, Savages and that Wall Street sequel were all horrible movies.

Because they aren't all like that. Maybe if you actually tried talking to people your own age instead of just writing us all off as idiots, you'd see that. But hey, it's easier to just write off everyone as an idiot than it is to put effort into getting to know people.

It's really more that different way of protesting that I brought up, and that it's hard to get out and protest with the economy the way it is. Gas is almost four dollars a gallon where I am, a lot of people I know work two jobs or are unemployed and trying to find jobs, or can't afford to drive as often as they'd like. So, internet protesting is a necessity in this era. People want to have their voices heard, but it's easier and more convenient to do that on the internet, and damn near impossible to go out and do it in person in large numbers.

But again, it's easier to write off an entire generation as fat, stupid and lazy and say that's the reason they aren't protesting than it is to look at why they're taking to Twitter instead of marching in the streets.

Furthermore, I honestly don't know why I bother responding to you at this point. I know that you've probably blocked me because it's easier to ignore someone than it is to listen to what they have to say and make a reasoned argument against them.

 

Just who the hell do you think is listening?

Talking to my generation is like talking to a wall. Quite franky 90% of them aren't worth the effort because they're never going to amount to anything. They have their dirty pictures and their facebook... So they're quite happy to sit on their brains waiting for some kind of new tech that will wipe it for them. Trying to talk to them only provides them with an excuse for Internet based arguments as a way to break up the monotony of their waste of life existance

Personally I would rather talk to the snot in my hanky before listening to 99% of them.

Anyone that's around my age that has even just an atom's worth of intelligence is pretty much finding a way to clear out.

 

What makes you think they were any more likely to listen when previous generations took to the streets and marched?

 

Awareness is no less necessary than "taking to the streets and marching." How can people march without it?

Our corporate task masters are not unaware of this; they use our collective ignorance and apathy to to put a handsome profit in their pocket.

If change is going to happen, collective awareness I'd think, needs to occur (before marching in the streets).
