need to show this to the boss... our glue is potent, and i can't afford to lose anymore brain cells :D

Trying to learn a trade is a repetitive cycle... I've actually been trying hard to get into electrical stuff but i'm getting nowhere... Nobody will take you on as an apprentice without experience, but you can't get experience if nobody will take you on as an apprentice :D

I wanted to do the pre-apprentice course, but its about 5 grand... I guess I could take out a loan to pay for it, except I have to wait 6 months for it to start again... and then its a 6 month course... So I'd have to wait an entire year just to become an apprentice? That doesn't work for me... There's gotta be a way around it some how, I just dunno how..

Tips? ... I know there's online courses i could take anytime... But... it's online? Who learns a trade online... lol... If i was an employer that would mean nothing to me, you have no workplace experience.. just book smart

well its a long process to become a journeyman, and its full time, so i wanted to do it asap that way i can get it done and finish it while i'm still quite young... then maybe get some other certificates as well, in the end i want to own my own business eventually

my dad used to be an electrician back in the days... he knows a few around town, I'm sure if all else fails he could introduce me and get me an apprenticeship... But I was kind of just wanting to do it on my own without help, but if all else fails its my backup

I started sitting hanging around in an electrical supply store. someone there will need a helper. Id buy little things but spend a while talking to contractors and looking for work., I was your age..

that sounds like a good idea... I've been to a few while at this job for parts.

Doing this in person would be a lot better i'm sure, all i've done so far is send some emails (a lot of emails lol), even a phone call would be better i guess... I just don't know how to find any numbers, or what to search for... I'm not aiming for any large companies since i'm sure they wouldn't hire me

I'm not wanting to start until october though... So i dont know how to go about this, maybe i should wait a bit until I start looking more? Because I already have this job until october, then i get laid off because they slow down...

here you get the job and register as an apprentice

there are ways around the book training

im fully licenced (interprovincial ..my licence is even good in BC)...ive never worked a day in a regular shop (except for short co-op in college)..never officially apprenticed..college was a time waste but ended up helping me a ton with the hours..and a small group of students thanked me for helping them learn more than the teacher ever taught them ;)

i have many books on plants and gardening, and animals and... crafting as well :) i dont like cheesy romance, but i do like well-written romance, something with a backbone, a good story. those are the "easy take-a-break " books that i read.

life is a long, slow, painful process. get used to it know.

you can not understand, because you are stuck in your box, in your experiences. pregnancy is beautiful, it is powerful, it is incredible. you have never seen your seed growing inside the woman you love, so you have no respect for it. and there is no way to properly explain it to you.

Yeah, I can handle having a romance in a book as long as it is surrounded by a good story. I also like well-written historical fiction that may happen to have a romance in it. lol I absolutely LOVED Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Are you at all familiar with her or that series?

I'm rather impressed with all of your cleaning. :2thumbsup: Most men aren't going to do all that plus the yard! Are you expecting some special company by any chance? ;)
