I know there was a thread a while ago about this, but I wanted a new thread. ok., Black (african american if you rather) barefooters..how common are they? Growing up, my own mother said a few times that "White people let their kids go barefoot anywhere"..which always made me go.."Um..and?" Me. I'm always barefoot. People in my neighborhood and places around me tend to give me dirty looks or say things similar to what my mother said. My husband, who happens to be white, could care less. My own family ha made negative comments. I get comments like "This ain't Africa. " or "We ain't slaves anymore" or the most stupidest "You can tell you married white (WTF is that supposed to mean?) My son is barefoot whenever he is with me and that brings even more stupid comments. Anyone else have that issue?
