No thanks. That's 'no' with a 'thanks'. I am British. Wrong thread? So, what do you really feel about the military?
If someone invaded his country, he would probably leave it, and so would I. For some reason I don't think anyone would invade all the countries in Europe at the same time. Why can't you accept that some people are against military, odon?
Whatever you say there buddy. If the chinese or n korean armies decided to invade europe, they would have you all pigeonholed and scared for your lives until another big army came and saved you.
And a person with his house on fire would probably welcome a flood. There are always reasons to fight. And good depends on a persons point of view. But if your point of view is that the least harm is the best path, war is almost always a bad idea. Soldiers aren't heroes. I mean some of them are. They are generally bold, as are the other side who'll fight to the death for their cause. But most of them are employees who are in it for the opportunity. And those opportunities are created by the Machiavellian fantasies of the petty tyrants we let guide our world. And I'm not talking about Obama or Bush, I'm talking about the industry of war. It makes war eternal, and we have always been at war since World War 2. Being in the military perpetuates that industry of course.
Spreading wide and moving in fast. And coming in from all sides. I'm not a military strategist but that seems pretty obvious.. And Europe is not that big, regardless of how many countries it is. Where would you go if they took your country? That is, if you could get past the military checkpoints. You would just leave your home like that without a fight?
I don't disagree, and I'm a non interventionist. I think people should solve their own problems/fight their own battles. But I still think a means of national defense is smart, if not necessary. People that are staunchly opposed to military in any form or capacity, would welcome help from said military if it came to invasion of their homeland. Whether they admit to it or not.
Not Big relative to what? Asia? Jupiter? Europe's pretty big. And who's they? America? I for one think they'd welcome us, and all the new Walmart jobs we'd create.
Oh, okay. I'm with you there. I'm not a pacifist. Having a military is a good idea. People are crazy, and it's good to be prepared.
Like FlyingFly says, I wouldn't give a fuck for my country (or Europe) and just leave. I am not attached to borders, but I'll be sad for the lives lost for a useless cause.
I can. It's just that sometimes you two don't come across as particularly honest/sincere - flippancy kinda pisses me off sometimes. Especially with regards to serious issues.
