If your cans are dry from the fridge and not a cooler with ice, put a little water on it to keep it from sticking in your koozie. Keep you cooler in the shade.
offer the homeless dude next to you a beer, he's prolly got some crazy stories keep knives away from the homeless dude next to you with a beer
have only really shitty music on your music player, so if anyone even wanted to fuck with it - they would only be faced with poor choices, that'll teach em!
If you use a marinade or sauce for grilling meat, don't pour the sauce on the food on the grill. it just wastes it running down into the coals. Put the unused portion in the microwave and heat it to kill any bacteria. Also, raw broccoli is a perfect side for buffalo chicken. More nutritious that celery and goes good with blue cheese!
fixed my tip: don't take "no-lighter-fluid-needed" charcoal out of it's bag before use...it loses it's lighter fluid-ness and becomes a bitch to light.
Don't invite the guy that gets drunk and starts fights... Unless that's you, then have fun with that!
Watch the sunset 7 days in a row and make a mental note of the changes Do pull-ups on tree branches Do sprints on the sand at the beach if you can Put your bike on a more difficult setting and don't lower it, even if you can only ride for 3 minutes. Eventually the new setting will feel like the easier setting but it won't be! When you go down to the water, do yourself a favor and swim
and doing all that will make my BBQ better how? Will it make my chicken get fully cooked without getting too dry? Will it keep the flies off the food? Will it help prevent marshmallows from falling into the fire? Curious minds want to know.
BBQ-ing well, is like a Zen state of mind, Nox. It's like, you know when you're grumpy and stressing on something, sex with your lady isn't as good... same with BBQ. For all the philosophy you've studied, i'm surprised you weren't aware of the connections between summer activity and food. Ambiance, my friend, ambiance. People pay good money for the right kind of it.
Asparagus with Italian dressing is great. Again don't pour the dressing in the coals, but with veggies you don't have to heat the sauce. I also liked when I grilled carrots with just oil and a little salt and pepper. Cut them in half and leave long.
power was out tonight.. had to do everything on the bbq... turned out lovely. baked potato, grilled corn, striploins, and big chunks of zucchini. ate by candlelight with the lady and as far as tips go, grill the corn by soaking with the husks on (lose the hair though) in cold water for an hour before cooking, grill with husks on and remove later, and always use charcoal, gas won't give you any flavour and you lose the dynamics of a live fire
