(as for facebook i'm really never going back there... too big brother for me but even beyond that facebook was crazy for me... I had my mom and rest of my family on there as well as a whole bunch of crazy friends and they would end up getting into arguments with each other on my page ...my mom.brother and friends. It was really too much for me. Can't deal with that shit. lolz.)

I miss a lot of people from back in the day - oaffie, greatwok, pearljamie, jAck, heather, angelgodiva. Hope they are all OK, happy and healthy.

I missed Trish's posts while she was away.

 

Yea, I used to be on facebook. Here is the story of my facebook- short story because it's come up here a couple times. I had a facebook accnt with my real first and last name and an old gmail email that I used to use. I changed the pw once and couldn't remember it. AND I had changed the pw for the gmail email annnd couldn't get onto there either. So I was unable to access that facebook accnt, - to use it... to shut it down...anything.
So, after that I had created a new facebook accnt with my middle name and last name and a different email. I got so fed up with facebook drama and big brother and yadda yadda.. so I "deleted" that account.. though I know it's never really gone.
So apparently some people still think I'm on facebook with my original facebook accnt, BUT I have not accessed it in years and years.
I DID recently (shhhhh it's a secret), create a new facebook page actually... simply because I HAD to get in contact with this girl... and I couldn't figure out any other way and you can't message ppl unless you have an accnt. So, yea, created it. Added my brother n cousin as friends and messaged the girl and then never went back to that again. I do have a pic on it of me and Cason.

Awww thanks hun I don't remember Heather's user name - funny how we both know exactly who we are thinking of, though. She and I used to fight like cats and dogs at the start - then we realised how ridiculous it was, lol and got along ever since!
Angelgodiva hasn't posted in many years. Last I heard she was in a lot of pain due to her illness and also had a partner that wasn't the best.

 

Yea I am 99% sure I know who you mean by Heather...

and yea, I was hoping to hear angelgodiva was doing good because last I remembered she was having some problems with her lyme disease..

I never know how people get into long term drama on Facebook. I've been there for about 5-6 years, and the only drama I've been in is with my mum asking why I never call

I hate forgetting email passwords - especially when they are just random ones that are not your legitimate accounts. They want to know too much to get back in. I use yahoo, so it's not so bad now because I can sign in using my Facebook account.


If you are talking about Heather N...... - and don't want to go on Facebook, she's on Pintrest. I just tried to sign up, but It's too darn slow for me right now.

I may actually get back on facebook eventually (sooner or later) simply to keep in touch w certain people that I can't really contact elsewhere. it is really good for that (fb), but just not post personal stuff n all on there.
well, the drama w my mom/brother and friends on there is my mom's side of my family is very conservative, church going republicans and stuff and my friends...the ones that got into arguments with my family have the opposite views... it was years ago and I think a friend was posting stuff on my page about if sarah palin became prez moving to Canada and I think made comments that were pretty violent about what they'd like to shove up her **** ass... stuff like that. and my mom flipped. and there was just...bickering between the opposite extreme sides on my page. I was like "dude, this aint cool. im on facebook to POLITELY discuss politics... to get invites to raves and shows... to post pics of my son and see my friends/families kids pics and keep in touch w ppl I don't see else where... not to have this drama.

I think for me it was just too much of EVERYONE from EVERY part of my life all in one place. *shudders*

I told my friends etc from the outset not to be complete ***** on my page.
I took my brother off because he was just a monumental ****** (but he's like that in real life, too.)
I'd never thought about a large proportion of the people you know are all in one place looking at you (or potentially looking). *shudder*

Seems like there were numerous pleasant and lively people on this board at one time. I've seen other forums go through such phases. It would make a good sociological study to try to explain why such groups have a way of deteriorating, like a once-pleasant neighborhood going downhill and never regaining what it once had. Maybe some people feel threatened by the creativity and liveliness of people. It's like rocking the boat. Mundane is much less threatening or competitive, especially to people who are running a board.

 

I miss many who chose to leave or took a paid vacation to nether land. Some deserved to take that trip. I also appreciate those who are still here and enjoy spending time posting.

There was a time when the board was not so pleasant a place to post and many took a sabbatical rather than have to deal with things that were totally out of hand. Perhaps that is the key, when you drive away members that is also not a good place for a social board to be in.

I am not going to state who I miss as I really do hope that at some point in time they wish to return and then I will be more than pleased to welcome them back.

 

This is true. Sadly even now I feel there are a few particularly nasty people on here, although they are usually pretty easy to ignore. But for the most part, it's really nice to post here.
