I was just thinking of the amount of junk mail that goes out. Theres even a trash can where the mailboxes are in my building cuz most of that shit just goes straight in that trash. I recycle mine, but who else agrees they are wasting too much paper?
I agree, it's ridiculous. I never look through that shit. The weird thing is I always get hit the hardest the day after trash/recycling day.
Over here (in australia) we can just put a sticker on our mailbox saying no junk mail and its usually respected
yeah, I just use mine as scrap paper though to write down little notes, telephone messages, phone numbers, do math, whatever...

My favorite atm I usually go to now has an option to get the receipts emailed to you, cuts down on waste at the expense of a cluttered email inbox
I don't know if there's a way to opt out as an apt. person. They just stuff every box in the mail room, regardless. It's a huge freakn' waste and it pisses me off every time I check the mail.
they have to make sure they fill every route of communication with bullshit. Being called several times a day on the phone by bogus numbers, ads on the internet, commercials, email filled with spam, so much jumk mail that I can't see the important stuff...I guess we the people pay for the environmental price of using all that paper needlessly
