http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialReleases the list of special releases for this years Record Store Day is ridiculously huge. already pre-ordered Blind Melon´s debut album and really interrested to get: Porno For Pyros - Porno For pyros Calexico - Spiritoso Small Faces - There Are But Four Small Faces and if the prices aren´t too steep and I´m not completely broke on the 20th: the Band - Last Waltz Aerosmith - Toys In The Attic Is there anything on your wish-list?
I wouldnt get ANY OF THIS NEW VINYL dude!! Most of it is just DIGITALLY TRANSFERRED TO THE RECORD (Garbage (No better sounding than a CD)) Here is a thread on it: www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215437 When i get records or Tapes,I WANT GOOD ANALOGUE SOUND
absolutely, I would prefer full analogue as well if an original copy could be found for a somewhat affordable price. the Blind Melon LP was only pressed in the UK and a clean copy might cost $150 or more. this album from '93 could also have been recorded digitaly just as 99% of the albums in the past 25 years. If the high resolution digital transfer is done right and the LP is properly mastered it will still have better dynamics and a higher resolution than a cd...not to mention the difference in sound between my cd-player and turntable.
I have become disillusioned with record store day. I support the idea. But its because another thing where people who have no interest in music go buy records then sell the on ebay for huge amounts and its just become about making money. I could be wrong. But anything that gets people back into an independent record store and vinyl has to be a good thing right?
agreed. I loathe the greedy fucks who only purchase limited editions to resell them on Ebay and the industry could easily print more than 200 to 500 copy´s of clasic albums to avoid that vinyl lovers are being ripped off by these parasites.
