Its weird tho. Mike Tyson's father was 7 feet tall, I read. Yet he is only 5'11.
I'm told my great grand*mother* was 6'4. So if I inherited all her genes I'd probably be about 6 feet 19' :D

I read some theory that there are various things that compete for energy when you are in growing phase. Basically your brain, your height, your bone size (eg shoulder width) and your adult testosterone levels (if you are male, obviously).

I know someone who has learning diffics, but he is 6'5, HUGE and 12 YEARS OLD!!
(Would make the ideal hired heavy :D ) Anyway, maybe there is truth in the theory... hmm...

It'd be pretty cool if one could just change height!

I think it's a popular cosmetic surgery in some asian countries (and no I am not kidding).

I like being 5'2" most of the time. It would be cool to be tall once in a while though.

I'm average height here, which is 1.80m or so. That is the worst, it must be a lot more fun to be either tall or short instead of average.

I've never been average in any area of my life :D. I prefer it that way.

Some people swear you can change your height a lot into adulthood.
People who have growths on their pituitary(?) gland do.
But there are other ways too.

I'm sure I grew into my mid 20s. Infact, I think I'm actually taller when I do less weight training... maybe.

    Says the Dutchie. I'm only 5'4" = 164 cm.

So Calgirl, your son will be like those giant young men that work at the drug store around here. They are so tall that they have to roll their shoulders forward and lean down whenever they give me my change. Hee hee hee.

I hope your son fills out nicely.

    what is the formula?

people in my family are on the tall side of average (like me, I'm 5'6) but there is a giant gene that pops up every once in a while. My brother is 6'5. I think my son might have it. He's always been in the 90th percentile for length and his feet are freaking huge.

I used a formula from the computer once too. At age 2, given his head circumference, his weight, his height, he was projected to be 6'2". That would be great !
