I've had Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale and found it to be quite average. The best pumpkin ale (IMPERIAL pumpkin ale) is, unanimously, Southern Tier's Pumking. And that is not based solely on my opinion, but on actual reviews. So HA!!!
I'll have to do a blind pumpkin beer tasting and report back to you. I'm not a beer person though so my opinion might not count.
I got shitfaced on two 22 oz. bombers of beer last night. That Stone RuinTen kicked my ass. I need to stop drinking such strong beer like it's iced tea.
For my birthday, my friends and family took me to this place called Beertown Public House. They have this crazy fusion tap, where they can basically infuse your beer with anything. The waiter said he infused hamburger, and donuts, for example. I had a weiss beer infused with mangos and pamplemousse. We got a booth that has taps built into the table, so you can pour your own beer. We had Chambly and Stiegl at our booth. Also, I tried a Muskoka Brewery's Mad Tom IPA on tap. And it was sooooooooo good. Soo soo good. It was awesome. It was the first time I found it on tap. My friend Andrew works for this brewery. Then, I had a pint of Dead Elephant on tap. Which is kind of my go to craft beer. It's more of an English style IPA, kindda ale-y. I ate a NY steak with this beer. It has good head and leaves a deliciousness on your lips.
It sounds like a good idea in theory but why would you want to mess with any craft beer. I can see maybe for a beer like michelob ultra which has no flavor on its own.
Port Brewing Mongo Pale Ale. Too strong for early in the night right before a tennis match. I didn't realize it to be an IPA. I wanted a normal PA.
At the same time would be worse... But honestly, either one of them separate don't sound good to me either. Whatever happened to just using cedar and things like that?
Pumpking should be in Florida now, it's September. I'm going to the booze shop tomorrow. Right now it's I-10 IPA for me.
