Funny that i never saw elvis playing the drums and bass at the same time when i saw clips of him in concert.

We might ask who is more eccentric: Elvis or Lennon?

My vote goes to Elvis. John Lennon never wore enough sequins.

Elvis did well because he had an appeal to almost everyone. The young girls thought he was cute, The early rock and guitar for middle age, And his gospel music for the old folks. He was able to attract them all and him alone for the most part.
He had a few drugged out ramblings, But did his music himself, Not like today when you can turn eye candy that cant even talk let alone sing but they clean it up for $$.
He was also a actor, Poor acting, But made $$ there too. That's why 'the king will never die' and there are conventions for 'impersonators'. I look at it as a big joke.

Perhaps not, but my dad DID watch him forget the lyrics to several of his songs in concert. He still says to this day it was the best concert he'd ever been to and he went to a couple of Elvis shows before he got all drug addled and forgetful.

wasnt like half of his music covers from other musicians. Thats a pretty big chunk of stuff that he didnt do by himself.

who gives a rat who was more famous and why?
who made you more question the lies you'd been conditioned tell yourself?
    that's what matters.
and then, still not who, but if you did.

I Can't Commit Either Way, Both Were Totally

Professional, But Their Music Was Worlds Apart, I Think John Wins With

His Music, But Elvis Wins Because Of His Name...:).

    Win Win For Both...:2thumbsup:.

    Cheers Glen.

i still think celebrity is nonsense. entertainment can be an honest living, and fame makes it a well paid one, but that's still all it is.

Here is an interesting aside I found when I typed in Elvis verses John Lennon, it's about how Elvis and Tom Jones viewed Lennon:

Not that it matters, but Elvis and John Lennon were both pretty big assholes.

    Who gives a rat.....

Who cares. This is only a bit of fun. A random thought which is the name of the game here.
But if its "who made you question things" then John Lennon wins by a huge margin.
He made me wonder just what elementary penguins singing hare krishna might be up to.
I already knew about Heartbreak Hotel. And found the script hopelessly dated and done to death.

But actually as I suspected would be the case, more Americans think Elvis is more widely known,
    I still say John.

When asked for his reaction to Elvis death. John said "Elvis died the day he joined the army".
