You mean Lucia Micarelli...I like her also Kashmir cover which I saw on Youtube but I understand people needn´t to be interesting about this stuff when they´re in Tull concert. I saw them two times...sound quality in Slovakia pretty sucked, in Prague (Czech Republic) was great but I was dissapointed by Ian´s singing. I heard he had something with his voice, some troubles, wish he could be better then now again. But I love Jethro Tull as a band...for me one of the biggest. From songs I´m absolutely in love with "A Song For A Jeffrey", "My God", "Salamander", "Boureé", "Cross-Eyed Mary" that much ruminated "Aqualung"...but there are lot of.
TULL are the shit....always have been in my rock book.....Aqualung's fine, but my fave tune by Mr.Anderson and co. is always New Day Yesterday......that killer riff stands the test of tYme.....yet to be equalled by any band out there ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH9YwZ60Mhs
Thank you for starting this thread. Jethro TUll rock. I saw them live. I absolutely love "Skating Away", "Teacher", and other songs. Besides FLoyd, I'd say Tull are the fuckin masters of prog-rock PEACE
very inspirational music. Jehtro Tull reinforced my faith in God after listening to Bungle in the Jungle and Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day about a week after having a trip where I saw angelic entities of light and heard the voice of God.
I love Jethro Tull so much. Mostly their stuff up to and including Thick as a Brick though, the stuff after that doesn't really do anything for me (aside from Heavy Horses) :/ I just can't get into those albums
I always heard Aqualung played to death on the radio. It kinda grew on me after awhile, but I was amazed at how good some of their other stuff is after recently doing some youtube searches. "Teacher" is a favorite. And pretty much anything with a lot of those classical violin/flute elements to it.
The cool thing about Tull is that any 2 albums are never too similar. They always changed in so many directions, and pioneered some cool musical ideas while they did it. Surprised this band isn't a more celebrated part of rock history. Most people nowadays pass off the idea of a flute-led rock band.
'New Day Yesterday',for me. It's almost a cakemix of Zep,Sabbath and D/Purple,baked to perfection the Jethro Tull way. You can definitely hear the influence Tony Iommi's short time with them had on Sabbath.
