I failed to see any significant real information being put forth by him, but others put forth a lot supporting the opposing viewpoint.
I would imagine that a person who has the education and training he has claimed would be able to mount a more concise and factual argument than what was presented.

I from the outset said I am NOT an expert, and that was simply met with "I'm an MIT grad" with NO supporting evidence, either in way of his degree OR in the manner in which he mounted said argument.

Seriously, I'm still looking for this "strong argument based on science and history" that Sunfighter mounted.

 

I see, and ya know that's a bit tricky, because the whole point about talking on these forums with usernames, is to afford us a bit of anonymity amongst each other....but your want for support of his MIT degree/graduation would require he like show you his real name and the degree in question....

Providing proof is contradictory to the method in which all of us are communicating.

I did read that thread all the way by the way and I saw lots of claims made by lots of people some more technical than others. But you should know that I think we differ on our interpretation of what "support" means for any viewpoint.

I saw lots of free-floating ideas and claims out there, but lots of the "support" overlooked details which would've negated the overall original idea by default. But the general audience would've have been aware of that, from their perspective their claims and ideas were unchallanged and perfectly fine.

You guys should listen to Resistance. Plus it's only a matter of time before some Muslims manage to fly a plane into a reactor down wind from my house. Or the New Madrid goes off, or fuck knows what else... The human race is way too fucking stupid and irresponsible for nuclear energy.

 

You know if don't like the idea of people flying planes into buildings.

You could always petition your government to sell them fighter jets and missles. That way they can kill innocent people in a much more civilized way just like UK military or the United States military etc does.

Yep, that's what happens when other countries believe U.S. propaganda that nuclear is "clean energy".

 

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission believes it is their job to promote nuclear energy rather than protect the health of the citizens. Another corrupt organization.

 

I will say this.

As the nuclear industry operates now, with the power plant designs they use, and the fuel they're using now....I say shut it all down.


From a citizen movement, Resistance, is correct that we need to stop wasting electricity and be very conservative with the natural resources we have. Much like in WWII, we need to ration because we are at war with an ideology of waste of scarce resources which causes wars among countries competing for the resources.

(Economics connection: Law of supply and demand, citizens can cut down our nation's demand on stuff.)
