How the fuck have I managed to get mumps when I've had the MMR jab??

And I might have been infectious at the weekend so if I've made anyone who was at the gathering ill I'm very very sorry :(

And the fucking cow of a nurse told me she couldn't find a vein to take blood (argh) because I have chubby arms:mad:...right...that's really gonna cheer me up when I'm already feeling like utter shite

Oh my, that isn't good. I got a letter from my doctor the other week saying that poeple who were born in 1987 and 1988 (or maybe it was 1986 and 1987) needed to have their MMR jab again :&

Hope you feel better soon :)

i feel your pain i got em too. ive been stuck in the house 3 weeks so far and the doctor said it should last around 2-4 months. the thing that sucks is that i feel completely fine now, like your supposed to after a few eeeks, but im still contagious and could relapse supposedly so i cant go back to work yet. on the plus note, i get to sit at home all days playing my guitars and smoking lots of reefer.

That's strange...I got told I'll probably be feeling well after the weekend, and I won't be infectious after a week

vaccinations arent always effective AND they wear off AND they mess up your body's immune system. more about mumps: http://www.whale.to/vaccines/mendelsohn.html#MUMPS

Sorry you're feeling lousy. And your nurse was mean, there's no excuse for that kind of behaviour.

the firast mmr vacination probably would have worked but what the government never taol anyone is that you needed a follow up jab which hardly anyone got as they were unaware of it being required. this is why you have got mumps, not because the initial one never worked but because the government wanted to save some cash..........nothing changes!

theres been a huge outbreak round edinburgh uni too, one of my friends had it so we had a walk in vacinatin thinggy, to catch up on the missed jab. not that i went to get it...i think it does more harm than good but thats just my opinion....

hope you get better soon!! *hugs*

Apparently when I had my first of the MMR vaccinations I came out with a slight touch of the mumps and my sister measles... so I guess that was the side effect when I had it (although this has nowt to do with why you have mumps I will stop ribbiting on now)...

I hope you feel much better really really soon my sweet :D

    *huggs*
