Cell phones were cheaper and smarter for us. It's $70 a month for the two of them. And in an emergency with no cell service, my husband is a HAM radio operator, which is much more reliable than landline telephones. When/if the whole infrastructure collapses, the HAMs will still be able to communicate. So I'm not worried.
Yeah, cellphones are much cheaper (but apparently their massproduction has also caused some dubious industrial problems, as usual with cheap products). I pay €7,50 a month for my cell phone services and have done so for years
I grew up in an era of landlines and street corner payphones. Besides the house would feel empty without the old rotary phone and the harrassing phone calls by the telemarketing community hotwater
we just have cell phones. they're expensive in canada though, especially if you want a data plan. i've never actually had a landline under my own name.
I still have a landline. I tend to use it more than my cell. I have the cell for emergencies or so that the kids can get a hold of me if I am out.
i haven't had a landline since i got a cellphone back in college. never really saw the point of having both.
^ Yes, and here if you don't buy the land line with your internet service, you can't have internet service. Its a scam but with no cell service, you have no other option for internet....
