Yeah- that was a surprise when he retired.. . Really should have made a better attempt to keep Parise last year. Gotta hope Ryder has a good year > ,Henrique hits his potential>& Elias and Zajac(when they come back) can turn it up a notch.- - Marty is gettin a bit slower,,but Id still take him over most . Think thier defense will be fine in front of him Bad start--but its a long season--------
Devils 0 0 1 1 2 Kings 0 0 1 0 1 15 shots on goal to LA,s 35 and still won in ot- - -we need offense bad though
the scoring woes continue for the Iowa Wild. The Wild were shut out for the third time this season as they fell 4-0 to the league-leading Abbotsford Heat. Man,,and thought NJ needed offense
We've only made it to one game so far this season. We went to opening night. They won that game. We thought about getting season tickets but winter is really busy for my husband so we thought we would see how big of a priority we make it to go to games. He's a huge hockey fan. We have season tickets to the Iowa Cubs baseball and we live at the ballpark in the summer. Winter is a little harder for us to commit to between his hunting, the holidays, birthdays and shitty weather. We only live about 7 minutes from the arena but it still makes it hard to get there with other obligations.
if i lived on the other side of the Chesapeake i would definitely have season tickets to the admirals. its tough when it cost more to travel than the price of the ticket and a couple beers. actually thats the one thing i miss about being in NJ. i would go to all the games when the penguins were in town.
Iowa Wild lost 2-1 but not because they didn't try. They put up one hell of a fight. Just couldn't get it in the net. Apparently the goalie for the Heat has a really good record (from what I hear) We were 3 rows off the glass on the attack side. I hope that makes sense. I don't have all the hockey lingo down yet but I'm trying to figure it all out.
i would guess you were on the side the home team was shooting at first. unless they do things different in Iowa and everybody moves their seat to the other side of the building during the intermissions.
Yes. The other teams goalie was in front of us for 2 periods. Iowa is screwed up but we don't play musical chairs at hockey games. hahaha. We decided to try sitting in different areas for each game we go to until we find where we really like to sit. This was pretty fun being right down by the action but it was hard to see the other end.
yeah those good seats at one end are really bad seats for the other end. its really a flip of the coin on where the action will be at the end of the game. i was at a game where i was on the "attacking side" and all the goals seemed to happen on the far side, then to add insult to injury the score was 5-4 with 2 minutes left and all the action was on the far side for the whole 2 minutes. it was good that my team won but we couldnt see a damn thing when it mattered most.
Yeah that sucks. I think our baseball season tickets are the best seats in the park. We are still trying to figure that out for hockey. I guess it's better that we didn't get season tickets this year so we test the waters. We definitely found the section with the most enthusiastic fans. I told my husband "this is the first sporting event I've been to with you that you aren't the most obnoxious one here" I love it when people are passionate about it as long add they aren't inappropriate about it like the guys behind us that kept screaming FUCK when there were kids all around us. I mean fuck is one of my favorite words but you have to know your surroundings.
I'm not easily offended at all. I just felt bad for the parents with little kids. I personally wasnt offended. Plus it was kind of funny because I know one of the refs...you can imagine how much love he was getting. Haha. Poor guy, it's part of the job to be hated.
Welcome to HF! Being from the Midwest we have a lot of options for favorite sports teams. In our house it is Minnesota Wild for hockey, Chicago Cubs for baseball, Green Bay Packers for football.
tigers are my baseball team. any opinions on the big trade? i have hardly followed hockey this year. first time in a long time i didnt see almost every game by the penguins. at least all the important playoff games will be on regular tv so i will see them when it matters.
