This is now fitness bump, chat thread, and recent photographs thread apparently. Pretty bird though. I'm not sure I want to know what a galloping device is....

Thanks Orison. I would love nothing more! I think I might be on Satan's good list and Santa's naughty list.... :leaving:
Did anyone else assume that she was referring to a horse? I also think that her post was meant to convey the fact that she has a very active lifestyle, even if she doesn't exercise, per se. But, I've interpreted posts very, very poorly before lol.
She said she was galloping around the upstairs porches. That would seem odd if it were a horse. I honestly have no freakin idea. It's the oddly placed photos that always throw me for a loop.
Yeah, at the beginning of the thread I said I used to work out and lift weights, etc, but now I don't do any of that. Just running up a mountain using the "galloper device" (makes a person 4-footed. You lightly touch the ground every 6 ft and you "gallop" like an animal) makes me strong as lifting weights, swimming, etc, and walking for hours taking bird photos is the same as running laps, but fun. My point being, I don't work out-I play around! Not to mention just living in Thailand is enough exercise on its own. I added the photos to show that I was climbing a mountain. The trail is so steep you almost bump your nose on it. No dark gym needed. :sunny:
Hello, perhaps it's more on-topic in the L&S educational forums . Regards Gy-hey baby, let's galopp together-ro
Did an hour on the treadmill as I put on 2 kg while at my boyfriend's gran's house! What speed do you guys do on the treadmill and how long for?
SOOO..this thread is only for gyms, reps, weights, laps in gyms, conventional workout stuff? I did that in the past, but not anymore, yet I have abs like iron, can lay my palms flat on the floor, have endless energy, have a tiny waist, yet never work out, conventionally. And I'm 61 and female. When I went several weeks without gallopers before I made a new pair, my abs/waist returned to flab and joints stiffened, despite working out daily. Any friends who borrowed the gallopers for even a short distance got similar results..which is why they're annoyed I haven't licensed them yet. The device eliminates elitism in Appalachain Trail runs, extreme sports can be for anyone..even overweight people with bad knees. Users move at the speed of a slow jog, but only touch the ground every six feet, no pressure on knees or feet! No slipping on steep, rocky trails because two "feet" are always on the ground. Your own weight provides the thrust I'm intimidated writing patents and getting stuff licensed (paperwork=scary!), but in the meantime, I don't have to work out..frees up alot of time, and I can scamper up and down the city walls ruins, play soccer while using them. :sunny:
I usually speed walk/jog at a 3/4, and run at a 6. It doesn't have to be conventional. To be perfectly honest (and this in no way applies to just you, it's a general statement), I don't generally read really long posts. Especially in bump threads. I'm still intrigued/nervous about this galloping device.... :s
Nah, I shouldn't even mention it, but it's so much fun and so easy I keep gushing about it. I made a galloper prototype out of saplings in 2010 after being annoyed my tiny terrier could outrun me, plus my 6' 1" husband kept griping about my not keeping up with him on hikes. I began running circles around my husband on the next hike, telling HIM to "hurry up." He got mad, asked me to make HIM a pair, then left me behind again. Meanwhile, I could outrun the dogs, and had to stop and wait for them to catch up. But I've been talking and tweaking the prototypes for years now, need to make a licencing deal or shut up about them. Fish or cut bait. But paperwork is scary.
I don't typically work out in a traditional manner either. It's usually swimming, yoga, dance, biking, running or playing with my kids. I run for fun, do yoga for the way it makes me feel mentally and everything else is for fun. The added bonus is that they are also good exercise. Somewhat rarely I'll do squats or a squat challenge because it's an easy way to measure a certain type of process and I'm interested in that process sometimes.
It was -6 where I'm at. I stayed inside, drank hot coffee :coffee:, and practiced my guitar.:guitarist: When my daughter took a nap, I did go to our basement gym. Christmas is not a good time to stop exercising. Too many goodies.ie:
