I'll concede that republican candidates have been allowed to criticize gay marriage in the primaries. None of the candidates who win the primaries are sincerely opposed to gay marriage, and they tend to shut up about the whole issue once they win the primaries.

If Christians are in the overwhelming majority, then you would think then they would also have an overwhelming presence in the mainstream media, but they don't.

I think that gay rights activists have established a strong presence in the media, and are using that influence to try to gain even more influence.

No one gives a rat's ass about radio. The existence of a minority share of Christian themed radio does little to suggest that their views are not being marginalized.

Imho, they both have a populist agenda. Fox News filled a particular gap in the market, and has been succesful.

And that is a bad thing because you think more extreme viewpoints should have an equal amount of airtime?

I guess when I talk about 'the media' It is wrong to suggest that every conceivable point of view is catered for on an equal footing or any footing within the mainstream media.

I wasn't talking internet "radio", I was talking about actual radio broadcasts. Internet "radio" is not broadcast over radio waves, it is not a radio broadcast. I'm not accountable for your misapprehensions.

Phil Robertson will be back on A&E show DD on jan 15th. All the butt hurt homosexuals and blacks can go cry now.

It has now been revealed that Phil Robertson will be returning to Duck Dynasty on January 15. A&E said they have no plans to fire the star.
It appears as though the war on Phil Robertson and his freedoms of free speech and religions aren’t quite so savage. Although A&E declared they were suspending the star “indefinitely, ” it was apparently only a façade for the gay community as sources say they still intend to air episodes featuring Robertson .
The Duck Dynasty star came under fire after expressing his beliefs about homosexuality and how it conflicts his religion. In an interview with GQ magazine, he started off by saying, “Don’t be deceived. People are super worked up about this. Imagine what could be accomplished if people cared this much about something that actually matters.

 

As a non-Christian (and a proponent of gay rights) who enjoyed the show, I'm disappointed but not surprised by what he said in that interview. I didn't read the whole thread so I don't know if it's been mentioned that his quote was from biblical book of Romans - no idea of the chapter or verse.

But the biblical verse doesn't apply specifically to gays. Phil made that connection himself.

It was foolish and wrong and A&E rightly slapped his wrist.

I'd like to see Phil serve his 4 or 6 episode Time Out like a good boy and come back to shoot hogs and tease Miss Kay.

And keep his opinion about folks whose lifestyle he disapproves of (for whatever reason) to himself.

Oh, every now and then people will get upset about something that matters. Remember when Snowden broke and everybody was concerned about government surveillance? Or when that guy made that Kony documentary and everyone was upset about child soldiers in Africa?

People were concerned about those things for about a week. This redneck? A week and a half tops. We're pretty dumb, maybe this duck dynasty guy is the hero America deserves.

 

So when do you start flipping burgers? Or they putting you on fries first?

They will be back making hand over fist money all day long and then some. Even if the show ends, DC will continue as they did before and will long after.
