Seriously, read this before you post a bunch of threads.

And if you want to click the link then how bout I give you some insight on the dreading process.

Your hair will not lock up instantly over night. This will takes months and years of your hair doing it's thing to actually lock up. If you do the backcomb method your hair will mostly be loose fuzzballs rather than the dreads you want to have, but don't be deterred your hair will lock up eventually.

You do want to use a non residue shampoo so do some research. Some people use Dr. Bronners but people who live in areas where there is hard water should NOT use Dr. Bronners instead find something else. I personally used California Baby tea tree and lavender shampoo.

I would say you can take a shower while some people might say no, it is all a matter of preference. If you do shower BE GENTLE to your baby locks. That means only scrub the roots and when you dry let them air dry or pat to dry.

If you did your research... you would know NOT TO USE WAX. Yes, once again matter of preference but I assure you the wax will only hinder the locking process and will probably make your hair smell funky....

If your cousin is working on your hair then all you need is a good comb. She will do all the sectioning herself and she can make sure they are all even and what not.....

Baking Soda (or Bicarbonate of Soda depending on what part of the world you live in) is some pretty badass stuff. A spoonfull in an empty/clean gatorade bottle full of warm water is the easiest way to clean your hair/scalp and not leave any residue. It's basically salt water.

edit: just read the other thread... meh
