To be clear...those stats aren't saying that's what percentage of each race is on welfare.

One of the things that annoys me the most as a privileged white male is when other privileged white males assume its ok to come to me with racist comments or jokes because they assume that I am a bigoted piece of shit just like they are.

 

This does happen a lot.

I dated someone who was legally here from Scotland and we were with a bunch of footballers who kept going on about immigrants. Most of the team had come here and become citizens and my comment back to them about they were all immigrants as well was met with silence.

 

Yup. That's more or less what I was talking about in my first post. I hear that stuff sometimes but to be fair...I don't hear it nearly as much as some people might expect that I do.

 

I feel sad for racists, because most of them don't know they are racist, racism is often very subtle, you'd have to really be aware to know all the times it is rearing it's ugly head. Racism is just a part of North American culture, it's taught in schools and society in general. From what I've seen it's a huge part of European and Central and South American culture too it just looks a little different there. Basically it's a sad facet of modern human culture. I don't think it has to be, but many are not at all motivated to question their old belief systems. Oh well, they are the ones missing out, who don't even know they are and I don't believe that ignorance is bliss.

 

The president has a 90% approval rating among african americans and that's all that matters :2thumbsup:

As someone of the caucasian persuasion who in the past has espoused racial discontent and disharmony your opinion on this particular matter carries very little weight

To me, a 90% approval rating of Obama by blacks is a perfect example of racism, considering he hasn't done a damn thing for blacks (or anyone else who isn't part of corporate America). Black people liking a president because he's black isn't much different than white people who voted for McCain or Romney simply because they're white, but black racism usually gets a free pass because of political correctness (brainwashing).

 

Compare two maps of New York City, one of ethnic distribution and one of crime occurrences; you'll find the black neighborhoods have the most crime and most violent crime. The Latinos (generally a more conservative culture which is also reflected by the way they vote) have farrrrrrr less crime. The White and Asian communities show virtually none.

Now look at Chicago, another glaring example.

This really relates to American racism. Around the world, I've experience racism from different cultures for being a white female. To think Americans are the only people who racially profile is just ignorant. Not saying anyone here thinks so, just putting it out there.
