Energy drinks always draw to mind images of pubescent boys hanging out on the street corners near their local 7-11. Or college kids mixing them with alcohol.
Haha yes, in this part of the world energy drinks are also largely associated with bored adolescents hanging out on the street. So bored and chilly they seem to love any rush, so they are chainsmoking tobacco and drinking cans of red bull and bullet energy drink! Not sure which part of their lifestyle makes them all look so pale
I see so many guys driving around with monster stickers on the back window of their trucks, I find it really strange. They might as well have a bumper sticker that says 'I'm a total douchebag!', because that's what they're telling everyone.
Yeah they're often the ones with the raised trucks that do nothing but drive it around the suburbs or to work at their 9-5 job.
Monster has too much sugar, I much prefer many of the lesser known energy drinks. Can't think of any names because theyre not big names or anything but much less sugar and cheaper too. More of a red bull taste than monster taste but cheaper than red bull but usually a bit more expensive than monster
My team is sponsored by rock star, so I pretty much have unlimited access to them. I really don't drink them very often though. Chemical shit storm in a can.
I have seen quite a few people with Monster tattoos, sorry, but that is idiotic.. I would go into the conspiracy stuff about Monster, but....
I also think tea is disgusting. Repulsive even. It triggers my gag reflux as soon as the flavor touches my lips. However I like mate, and Turkish Coffee is pretty good.
Very true. I don't know if they're any healthier though. But they don't have that energy drink taste a lot of people don't like. They actually taste more like juice than a lot of "juices" that are sold.
I drink Rockstar original flavor. I don't like the other flavors because they all include sucralose, which I find disgusting. I will agree that cornsyrup is probably not the best thing for humans to be consuming in large quantitys and personally I don't like the mouth feel of cornsyrup based drinks anyway. Unlike most soda, Rockstar uses sugar, not corn syrup, and at 31 grams per serving is less total sugar that ordinary soda. Monster also uses glucose, not fructose (cornsyrup) I challenge anyone to tell me just what is anymore harmful than any ordinary soda. Rockstar ingredients list: carbonated water, sucrose, glucose, citric acid, taurine, natural and artificial flavors, sodium citrate, caffiene, carmel color, benzoic acid (preservative), inositol, l-carnitine, guarana seed extract, panax ginsing root extract, niacimide, milkthistle extract, pantothetic acid, roboflavin, piridoxine hydrochloride, cyanocobalimine. Total caffeine from all sources: 160 mgs per can, no more than a few cups of strong coffee. Basically a sweetened herbal tea with a few vitamins and caffeine. And don't tell me about sugar highs, crashes and all that, thats complete bullshit for anyone with a normal metabolism. A little objectivity folks, the media scare has effected your otherwise rational minds.
It's an insane amount of sugar for anyone -- normal metabolism or not. 31 grams per can is a crazy amount, much less 31 grams PER SERVING. How many servings are in a can? Regular soda is bad. Energy drinks are bad. I don't know if one is worse than the other. They're both very unhealthy. There's really no point of comparing which is worse. It's like comparing drinking antifreeze to drinking windshield wiper fluid. lol Safe as milk, eh?
Some Monster promotion dude gave me a box of 16 a couple of weeks ago. They sat at the closet untouched for a couple of weeks. I finally decided to give them to the homeless. A few were grateful, but several actually straight out rejected the damn things. I left them outside my apartment... it looks like some hobo picked them up, emptied the contents, and kept the cans to resell.
