I know this is on it's way for being deleted as SPAM; but this is actually an awesome read. Take a look, mods.

Also, Blogger's not logging me in so here's my thoughts:

'I like this. I'm not trying to quit at the moment, but it was a really great read.

The part about the Amygdala even gave me some insight into why I behave the way I do (I have anxiety problems and it could help explain why I'm so inconsistent in my habits/actions)'

You can bet your bottom dollar that anyone responsible for instigating such an unhealthy regime is bound to be some religious fanatic.

^ what sounds unhealthy about it?

It's similar to therapies that have been used for centuries and are still in use by psychologists today. Hell, my sister used the "pinch yourself for cravings" strategy to stop smoking (one of the times she quit)

I do agree that the writer is more than likely a religious fanatic, but he could just have different views on sexuality and masturbation than you.
John Gray, the writer of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus , said that the biggest contribution to his understanding of women was his years of celibacy while retreating with monks.

Thank you for the compliments on my blog! I updated it with my personal story in there, check it out. I understand where you all/this website is coming from. I'm operating under the assumption masturbation is enjoyable and relatively OK. Please don't call me a fanatic.

Sex addiction isn't the same as doing something you enjoy with moderation, fap away. I have Bipolar II including being hypersexual which contributed to my sex addiction. I masturbated 3 times a day every day like clockwork when I wasn't "binging" uncontrollably for a few days over the course of 17 years. I watched porn in excess, paid for sex, and had relationships based purely on sex. It was debilitating and affected every aspect of my life. I tried EVERYTHING. I was UNABLE to stop if I wanted. I'd like to think we all should be in control of ourselves to even have that choice.

I hope you don't delete it as spam :/ and recognize the spirit/intent it was created for. I would hope in the interest of "being hip", this could be useful to bring an unmoderated "masturbation life" back into balance with other things in life if - I'm just providing the tool for what worked for me.

The reason I'm going COMPLETELY masturbation free isn't based on fanaticism. My brain is so "conditioned" to associate it with porn binges, that if I do it again I risk falling back into it. I am slowly reconditioning myself to masturbate in non-trigger situations, such as in a relationship, away from computer, etc in the same way Paraphilles are instructed to masturbate around more appropriate stimuli. BTW my favorite is a baggie between my mattresses - feels so much like the real thing. I might even know a few things most on here don't! I've tried a lot of stuff! Now that I am in control, I may try a schedule of once/week and see if I can handle it without slipping, but frankly I'm more looking forward to having sex with my girlfriend she does Pulates (sp?) and is an AMAZING person too. My cravings are less and I don't feel as much need. Long distance relationship for the next 3 months till back together : /. Thanks again for your positive feedback!! Delete it if you must.

Re: With your anxiety problems you might consider this same method of systematic desensitization, just like my post. However, the opposite of anxiety is relaxation in this case. Combine it with extinction. I am in Medical School now and we discussed this in class. The best way to think of this is fear of elevators. Do it in steps. I'm no expert, but for example you would lay down in the most relaxing situation imaginable for you, and pair it with picturing standing in front of the elevator. Hook your heart up to something or measure it yourself (this is called biofeedback). As you relax and also think about your body symptoms you should gain better control. Do this for a few sessions each day until you have no elevation of anxiety. Then imagine going into the elevator/pushing the button. You catch my drift. Eventually, you will stand infront of the elevator in real life. Maybe the final step includes your "relaxation aids" in the elevator itself. Put a bed and enya music in there. I've never tried this and don't have anxiety problems so please take all that only under advisement. I'm just writing this off the top of my head. Try googling systematic desensitization, operant conditioning, biofeedback, classical and operant extinction, etc. The challenge with anxiety problems is that avoidance behavior actually reinforces the anxiety: your symptoms lessen when avoiding the situation, hence reinforcing the anxiety. Extinction involves exposure showing that nothing happens in the situation. Another difficulty here is that the situation can't always be duplicated. A kid with an anxious predisposition who loses his parents in a crowd for several hours might develop a crowd phobia. Since a similar experience is hard to duplicate, it is harder to reverse the same experience as an adult.

There is a good reason why it's so difficult to avoid masturbating.
In the same way as you get thirsty when your body starts to dehydrate, it's Nature's instinctive way of telling you your body needs it.

Humans are, by no means the only species to masturbate. We've all seen the various primates shamelessly playing with themselves, non stop, but it applies to all sorts of other animals. The dog is an obvious example, humping the leg of all comers, but there are also others you wouldn't expect, such as whales & dolphins. These mainly young males have been filmed rubbing their dorks (for that is the correct term for a whale's penis) against the smooth pebbles of shallow waters until they reach an ejaculation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_sexual_behaviour#Autoeroticism_or_masturbation).

One thing all this proves is that it's not masturbation that's the perversion, but that if anything making the conscious effort to avoid doing so is (this, of course, is not the same thing as merely not having the desire to masturbate).

Tried to quit masturbating, watching porn, and drinking booze for three months. I made it thru the porn and the booze but I could not keep my hands off my self.

I got a Question. I am in my 50's and sometimes the wood just doesn't get to hard. Right now my only outlet is masturbating since the wife cant stand me. So I got some of that Mexican Viagra and holy cow can I get wood and I can go along time. Reminds me when I was in my 20's. Anybody ever tried this stuff because it sure works good and no headache.

    Two things, Rholder,
    # 1 - Why are you putting a "Positive" into the "Negative" slot? Your dick is there for a reason. It's telling you, "Play with me, make me (and you) feel good. Take your time and make me spit. We both will love it."
    # 2 - Where do you get the Mexican Viagra? I got Canadian "V" and it was crap.

Most of the internet available Viagras are fake anyway - usually something like aspirin, or even simply chalk, moulded into the familiar diamond shape. Any effects they may seem to have are purely psycho-somatic. If you believe it'll work, then it will. And if, as you say, there were no headaches - well, that would explain it.
