Nice guns! I'm just desperately trying to even out. My legs are beastly when I flex, and that's about as far as it goes :/. I've been focusing a lot more on core and upper body. I care because lifting helps me perform and function better in sports and every day life. I don't really give a hoot about the vanity of it all. I guess you never have to worry about hernias if you spend your life being sedentary. To each their own.
its true. It's not so much about how much you can lift but more about how many chin ups you can do... Like right now I can bench a decent amount, but I still can't do more than 2 chin ups or so and that's a way bigger failure than general weakness. Probably the best test of fitness is rock climbing or being the kind of boss that can do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLDYtH1RH-U I wuold shit my pants, fall and die.
Parkour But, it helps to have some serious balls accompanied by some discipline.. I've fucked my knees up from jumping off shit that's too high without technique. They were already screwed cos of genetics, but hey I'd like to get back into it, but actually do it properly as opposed to just doing stupid shit for the sake of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrFogPoQfXc"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrFogPoQfXc This dude's got some crazy flow...
I don't really have much muscle mass. I've always been pretty skinny.. I played alot of sports when I was younger. I'm okay with being skinny but I'm only like 5'8 in height.. so a little more muscle may help be more appealing to the eye. I do want to bulk up slightly and get more toned at least.
I can't find the other more parkour-ish video, but this girl does parkour on skates. Mind blowing. (it's nothing super exciting until about 3:00 in) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mR17n0u3U-Q"]MICHELLE STEILEN - YouTube
I'm built just like I was getting out of high school. About 10 pounds heavier. I have never worked out with weights, but was over 6 feet at 13 and deceptively strong and not bulky at all. Lucky, I guess. You don't work over 40 years loading, preparing and nailing on 800 to 1200 squares of wood roofing in a day if you aren't strong. Unfortunately, my bone structure was smaller/weaker -ratio-wise than my strength and bent my spine and broke a disc eventually. Kept at it anyway with the help of a chiro. Some 'a those weight lifters look ridiculously bloated.
I like a nice set of shoulders and some arm definition on a man. Legs to match and a little bit of love handle in the middle. The lifeguards and superswimmers that I see each day are way too lean and defined for my tastes. It kinda creeps me out a bit. For myself, I go for tone all over and some upper body lifting to off set being a chick. My biceps are toned and show but they aren't large. Swimming is doing great things for my chest. If I put effort into shoulders, mine can get pretty decent but I'm not working on that beyond the swimming, right now. And core core core. I just want to be fit enough to make life easier.
Really enjoyed that, MAMA!!! Thanks. Wish I could do that. Are you aiming to do that kind of stuff???
Our team is actually going to start having a couple practices a month at the skate park this summer. So yes!
That's crazy! I think I probably have the endurance to do that but there is no way in hell that I would even try. I wouldn't even want to do it if I was tied into the structure. Not a chance.
I appear to have very tight hamstrings, calves and glutes at the moment and I think it's causing my lower lumbar region of my back/pelvis to ache. I've always had trouble with this part of my back due to a sporting injury a long time ago. It could possibly be a sciatic nerve or something. I haven't really had it looked into too much. I've seen doctors etc, they give me physio numbers and pain killers. I can only deal with it the only way I know how to. Man up and get on with it.
