When i say "how do you get the most out of your trip?" i mean how do you get the most spiritual experience, learning experience and overall trippy experience that leaves you blown away. how do you do this without upping your dose every time you trip? do you do mirror gazing, meditation focusing on your third eye..etc.?
setting. whether it means a great spot, like secluded camping...or it means with a great friend or two. don't dose on a full stomach. "mirror gazing" usually takes me pretty far out if by that you mean staring into the mirror listening to my favorite band in the dark or by candle-light with my eyes closed.
I dose and then lay in the bed with my eyes open or closed forest tripin is awesome too My most spiritual experience happened after readin the Tibetan book of the dead. know your set and setting.
I don't think there is any formula. What is so "mind blowing" from a great experience, is the mystery that comes along with it. I really do feel like LSD is your mind tripping on yourself, not a drug, LSD is just the catalyst. So if you're feeling angst that right there is enough to have a bad experience. But if you're in a good mind space, and maybe have a few life situations left unresolved, your experience may end up being much more profound than you would have thought. Tripping on acid is like swimming in an ocean, you can fight the current or you can relax on it's waves. Either way you'll have the experience, it's up to you to have a good one
Set and setting as has been mentioned are key factors to consistently get mind blowing trips. I've found exploring various settings can keep the learning experiences special and novel, a specific scene from a trip can correlate or arouse in my mind to state dependent (LSD influenced) memories and lessons. I think that even though LSD can be quite forceful on any given trip in some of the subject matter it raises in the mind and make you face it whether you want to or not, there likely needs to be a continual interest in those aspects you look to explore to consistently elicit them in your trips, this would be a part of the set. For instance you mentioned spiritual, I still found myself in awe of nature, processes of the mind and pondering the workings of reality on my recent acid trips, which I guess I'd consider spiritual but I don't find myself embracing concepts of deities, afterlife and all that as much as my formative trips. Taking time to integrate the lessons you think will help your growth is very beneficial between trips.
All of the above, and in regards to getting the most out of your experiences, I'd space them out.. I had a pretty intense time on new years day which was the first time I'd tripped properly in about 11 months(reeeeeally fuckin' needed that ), and I'm still digesting it.. in other words, putting what I went through and those realisations into action. As much as I'd love to trip again this weekend(free house wooo), it seems it would be counterproductive in the long run.. I'd rather save the goods for when I feel I'll "need" them. Edit: On second thoughts, I took some mushrooms the day after the acid.. but in this case I'd class the whole thing as one experience, so, it depends.
How do you get the most out your trip: Low expectations. And give a few thoughts in advance about the setting as has been pointed out!
usually when i take lsd at a grateful dead concert it produces pretty mind blowing experiences consistently. LoL yes space them out. the trips will be stronger. i could take 2 hits of lsd and have a powerful spiritual experience, and then take 2 hits of the same lsd later and not have a spiritual experience. i don't know what causes an experience to be spiritual. it always seemed rather random to me.
I've only tripped on acid once but I had an amazing time just being around friends. I was so overjoyed to have them around and in my house that I cried.
Well you can prepare you body in days before the trip, meditating, eating right, not too much sex, drugs, or alcohol, and having the right mind set. Next a large dose always will give you best results. There are days that are better to do it on than others. Usually days with high novelty, so not in the middle of your normal work week. Perhaps a day where you have the house to your self for the weekend, or you after a concert with friends, or just a special time period you set aside just for the experience. Full moon nights seem to give a special boost to the experience, I usually have great trips on full moon nights. Setting should be somewhere you a comfortable in. Usually the best place is your own house, or right around your house. But sometimes new environments can spark up new experiences. And last just be open to the experience and let it do its thing. Sometimes you'll get a glimpse of the spectacular, and the yearning to fully experience that will bring about the trip. My greatest trips always have come with I had a great desire to understand what this was all about, until it was burning my whole being to know. Then you go deep, then you get to the real stuff.
