I posted a few days ago. He called me. They put a down on a cheap used car, so that they could live a distance from a store, and they got into a motel for one week.

    After that, who knows.
    ????????

He says that they're suppose to have wifi in the motel that they're in. He should have gotten to know how that works by now. You would think. Right?

He just called me a little while ago. Says they might want you to marry them or something.

    Where's roamy? !!!

Hi stars ! Hi Sag ! Hi all !

    Called him back.

Ranger says that no the motel doesn't have wifi.

They'll probably try to stay there for two or three months and they ARE ordering cable internet for their room. Should take two or three days to get.

The cats are still over in the trailer and being feed over there.

To be a REAL hippie one must have been a draft dodger ...
the rest was just fashion, fad, culture.
Draft dodgers wore beards and long hair so cops couldn't ID them
and lived on farms [communes] so cops couldn't find them
    Canada is a farm.

And then there were those who took not labels as real but as they were - tags others put on you to try to define you.
In accepting their tags and making it big within to conform - you hippies committed your own suicide
Non of us who live through these times are more - nor less, than individual human beings - As such, we need, if we accept our individuality; define ourselves from within, not from without or by a label .

But any can do what they will - the consequences of that action is their own -

But ware ye - it might not be the same definition others hold in their mind - for by their act shall you know them and all those saying love are not all about love
even as all those who say hippie are not about hippy (and geez, now what the hell does that mean...Lol)

Now the last time I said no offense intended - this time I say you want to take offense, go for it; but to make that really work there must be both parties involved.

    My Dear loveincarnate,

    I gotta love this.

I believe that there is more than meets the eye.

    More than this:
"To be a REAL hippie one must have been a draft dodger ..."

    a) what about the chicks? They weren't hippie?
    b) what about those of us who had student deferments?
or those not physically fit enough to be drafted?
    c) is that all that it takes to be a "Hippie"?
    d) LOL
    e) what about seeking and living a different lifestyle?
    f) I had long hair but I had no beard. (I guess that I don't qualify.)
    g) Yes, when mailed a Notice, I did nothing. Then two months later they mailed me another Notice that read "Please disregard the previous notice". LOL
This was very very late in the draft. (Years wise)
(I guess that I do qualify.)
I wonder which one of those would outweigh the other one? LOL Not having a beard or ignoring a draft notice?

    h) those letters above are all of the notes in the musical scale. LOL a through g.

"the rest was just fashion, fad, culture"

There is not "The Rest" We made our own fashion and were the fashion. It came from what we did. We didn't worry about it as "fashion".
We never looked at our own lives as a "fad". Others may have thought "fad".
"The Rest" was not culture. WE were the culture and the culture came from our living and being. Our way. How we live and what we did.

"Draft dodgers wore beards and long hair so cops couldn't ID them
and lived on farms [communes] so cops couldn't find them
    Canada is a farm.
    "

    Hold that thought.
The whole hippie thing started and happened within CITIES. It was a big mass urban PARTY. Like a gathering. San Francisco. Los Angeles. New York, and such.
Our commune, this very web thread was started in a CITY. Eventually this very commune started a country woods commune part, and that part soon fell apart. People split up.

Long hair and breads, just for the benefit of the cops? I don't think so.
I still have long hair. Nobody is looking for me.

    Really?
    LOL

I gotta love it. For real.

    Kenny

    My dearest oldwolf,

"In accepting their tags and making it big within to conform - you hippies committed your own suicide."

    LOL
    "Who you calling hippie?" "Hippie."

My friend. Nobody committed suicide. We are all still here, alive and kicking.
In fact if I could figure a way to draw folks together I would start a whole new scene, and party on into the future.

Back in the day we put off LABELs because it was others who were saying. We broke the molds. And Labels put you right back into a mold. Correct?

Many of us eventually learned to not give a F about what the others though or about HOW THEY THOUGHT or how limited they were going about thinking. After a while, that was no longer our concern. We moved on.

For a very long time now I am very proud of the term Hippie. For me it's a badge of honer. It means that I chose to live my life RIGHT. My own way. Inventing new ways of being and of living.

It a nut shell: I win. in the game of life.
I have no regrets. My life was fabulous. I love many and many love me. That is beauty.

    My life is Hippie.
    And I Love the Label.

    :peace:

Tell us about the inside YOU. What are your thrills. What makes you tick. What does your path seem like, on your journey.

    How do you grow?
    How do you see?

    inside me?
a wild man wizard hiding till the day he comes out
thrills? I avoid thrills, boring is best for my heath
tick? damn, am I ticking again? thought I got that fixed.
I forge the path using my katana ... it smells fresh green
and ends inches in front of my samurai katana
    it my path

this question is best answered by a song I wrote
    lyrics:

    I'm no Hippy ...

    I'm just HAPPY

    Loving life
    FREE of strife
Stress kills, but bordom more slowly,
Love REIGNS even cloudy daze, thru purple haze
    some people are uptight
    with or without the drugs

Do hippies dwell on bad news
sing, breathe, and live the blues?
Didn't you hear how hippies changed the world, and more,
    conquered it with love !
    The people I truely LOVE
are KIND people the kind wo/men
    who are members of ManKind
the kind heARTs & brilliant minds
    a masterPEACE !

Realeyes this, when the suffix "ies" is added
you have groupIES, hippIES, & we want our momIES
someone to follow, propaganda to swallow,
I have no wish niether to lead nor to follow
    but only to BE

I'm here to be with the ones like ME
of which be there none, a few, maybe some
a kind heART in a true woman or man
I will find in this THEatre/forum
    Wearing Melanie's button that says
    BE-YOU, t-full people, original creation
    PURE concsious sensation
I didnt drop out of school
I dropped IN to the park
    where life is about PLAYING
    and getting along
where the events that I was LIVING
    became words in the SONGS

    Cool, Mike.

I have always thought that it would be fun to hold a WAKE long before I actually die. I could have or rent a place. Invite everyone. Stock it with whiskey and other stuff. Lots of food and munchies.

Everyone could party out. I could be laid out alive in the middle of the room in a coffin, alive. Everyone would know that I was alive.

The object of the exercise would be that everyone could say whatever they want to about me. The good the bad and the ugly. And whatever. Everyone could celebrate, one way or the other. And the party's on me.

Also I could hear it all, and then I might make my changes for the better. And my apologies to others. And any who love and would miss me can all have a good cry together.

I have always thought that wakes were very cool. Perhaps we should start a tradition of having wakes while we are still alive.

    A thought for the day.
