Some beautifully strange visitors....

There are some strange creatures that knock on my door around here....Here are two of them....One luna moth, who is small compared to some of them I have seen., Some of them are gigantic! Ctas scratched holes in screens here. Hav

My favorite prehistoric love buddy...Mr. Salamander....

 

Pretty cool! I haven't seen a salamander irl for quite a while.

 

I never saw one like this salamander before. He was very large....and now I know why they are also called mud puppies. They have such puppy dog soulful eyes and are so sweet. At first I had no idea what it was...it was in my driveway, and I saw it there taking a dog out to pee...I was afraid at first of it....but then realized it was perfectly harmless. Poor thing was just trying to find his way back to the stream here.

 

Found a better photo of a luna moth I had. This one was huge......when he opened his wigs, he was about a foot wide....

Speaking of visitors, when I first moved here, there was a huge turtle on the property. She was digging to lay her eggs in the dirt. I love turtles, so I went over to her, and trepidisously went to pet her back, and I never heard sucha prehistoric sound warning coming out of anything. I jumped back....and was very lucky. I later learned she was a snapper.
