Ooh, ouch. That was a vivid mental picture (from the perspective from the inside). What a horror for those people
Yeah I suspect it would have happened rather quickly, and thats a good thing for them. But even so, its a very sad thing considering the circumstances and number of people missing. God Bless them.
If it broke up that high, sudden depressurization would suck people right out, some still buckled in their seats. 35k feet is a long way to fall. It would be nice to think that they'd be rendered quickly unconscious at that altitude, but people can be remarkably resilient. I've heard it's possible that the Challenger crew may have been alive until they hit the water.
Some family members of missing pax are able to dial their cellphones which are ringing through. Is this possible if the phones are in the water? I don't know.
There's info about the tickets bought for the passengers using the stolen passports: http://www.cnn.com/2014/03/09/world/asia/malaysia-airlines-plane/
Maybe the ringing you hear is from your own phone or somewhere in the network. Unless the person you're calling had shut off their service you wouldn't get a message saying it had been disconnected. It would just ring. At least that's my theory.
Very sad to hear, though hopefully for the passengers and crew it all happened quickly and there last moments and thoughts were happy ones
Or maybe they're still alive and visited by cruel aliens from outer space. We learn so little from these incidents.:2thumbsup:
This wouldn't be the 1st time someone suggested there may be paranormal explanation for the disappearance/crash of an aircraft, Back in 1972 Flight 401 an Eastern Airlines Lockheed L-1011 TriStar crashed in the florida everglades under bizarre circumstances Hotwater
We fly so frequently that we take safe travel for granted. And so often, there are mechanical failures on planes. They are not in the best condition we would like to think.
yes, and the parts that were salvaged were subsequently used in other airplanes which then became haunted. true story.
I used to be an avionics tech for a small charter/cargo company. Believe me, they go to great lengths to ensure planes are safe to fly. But there's still a risk something will malfunction. That's why even a lot of small aircraft will have two of certain vital systems, such as radios and navigation equipment.
Yes but the plane was not flying along that path. Planes just don't disintegrate at 35000 feet. I would take something a lot more powerful then any terrorist could make.
But there was a lot of debris from 103. It doesn't appear to be an explosion, because no debris has been found. Maybe they will find some, but so far, it does not appear to be an explosion.
I thought they found a door, but this is a crash in water, so a lot of the debris may have sunk. Or maybe not, I don't know.
