If it weren't for Ambient 4, I'd not question it, but that album is either drug influenced or it was divine intervention! Nick and I listened to it once under Methoxetamine and I swear that until that moment I had no idea how truly insane that record is, other than the final track on the first side, with Jon Hassel, who is always completely nuts.

unless you know someone personally and well, you have no idea what they may or may not have done or are doing. of COURSE performance personae, and the mundane person behind it, are very different things. that SELDOM resemble each other at all closely. how anyone can possibly not be aware of THAT is beyond me too.

LOL I hope you are not insinuating that that video is somehow proof that Frank did drugs. Zappa admitted he tried pot numerous times and he didn't like it, he said it just made him feel sleepy. He also said if he had liked it he would have continued because he liked to smoke. He claimed tobacco was his favorite vegetable and he was rarely without his coffee. So yes he did do drugs in the strict sense.

The 'claymation' animations in that video were made by a friend of his, Bruce Bickford. In 1987 Frank released a full length film featuring his orchestral scores set to Bruces animation called
