Where are you when people are hitting you from behind? If someone came up and hit me from behind, I might go bolistic.
Usually between rows 2-10 in front of a stage that turn into rows 1-15 when the band comes on =p I take it you haven't been in the middle of a heavy metal concert? It's like.. You stand 30 meters away and then instantly you've been pushed to 1 meter away.
I like the foam ones too. I use them to sleep during the day when I'm on night shift. I buy them in bulk. These are the best that I have found - they are from rite-aid:
I buy mine in bulk too. I have a box of them now lol hopefully won't run out. Ever. I'd never use them to sleep though because then all I'd hear is PIIIIING. I need open ear ways just for the masking of tinnitus. Fish tank filters do the trick.
I've been to bluegrass, country, acoustic, metal, rock, death metal, Grindcore, rap and hip hop concerts. They were all super fun. =] I mainly attend metal ones though.. At really poor pubs.. With even more poor bands XD
My grandfather also hears cicadas. I tease him. I say "der Klang von einer Million Soldaten ermordet" pointing fun at his war tales. Lol. Tells him it's the voices of millions of dead soldiers. Gets him angry every time. Then he challenges me to a game of chess.
I have tinnitus also. I thought it would drive me mad (the first year), but I got used to it. I've learned to ignore it, mostly. Even though it's quiet here (in my room) right now, reading this thread and then typing this reply distracts me from it seems. I can barely hear it right now. I wonder if I've learned to block it out mentally somehow, or is it just doing something instead of listening to it the key. I'm going to grab another beer and turn my fan on right now. Just in case it comes back.
I believe your body does learn to mask it. Once you forget about it all appears well until a quiet room, it's not the PING that gets me first it's the thunderous VRRRRR in my ears and I think my music has been up too loud. And then once you notice it it's just there until you don't. I find smoking weed increases the PING too. Doesn't stop me though.. Actually I find I can listen to music and then have a weed toke and that music seems too loud all of a sudden. So perhaps my ears has lots to do with marijuana usage?
Strange, I thought I'd be deaf by now too, but noise seems to bother me more these days. It's like my hearing is getting better.
I couldn't do that. I'd know well before leaving that I didn't have my phone. I perform a three pocket check. Phone, purse, keys.
I'm Not In The Least Bit Bored, I'm Only Here Because I Enjoy Reading This Thread.... Does This Make Me Some Kind Of "Outcast"....??? Cheers Glen.
Just you know, I've made a conceded effort to be a bit nicer and things and you, you persistently attack me at every opportunity. Not just me, but friends of mine also. Nah I don't cares, whatevs.
