Cars and stickers were mentioned here and expanded into a discussion over supporting American made products in general.

Which brings up a very valid point for discussion because as we see, t-shirts are not the only problem with maintaining 'American Made' loyalty. From there you can get into all kinds of economic/sociological cans of worms.

Although I sort of tried to baste Rayni the other day, I'll admit, I had alot of coffee and was feeling a bit wired. I shudder to think what would happen if all of our import electronics suddenly stopped flowing in. What if one day they just said 'no more' make your own, we don't care. I know the probability of that is likely something like .00000000000000000000000000000000000001 but it's a thought.

That being said, I still disagree with all the cheap gimmickry that's thrown around to display nationalism. It's symptomatic of our society in general where the inner substance takes a backseat to our outward appearance. Consequently that has led to much less 'inner substance'.

    Peace.

I'm glad I saw this thread.I live in gettysburg PA,which for those who don't know,is a piece of shit tourist town. However people seam to love it,because the major turning point in the civil war was here..Gen.Lee surrendered here,& lincoln gaveThe "getysburg address here"(yoy know the one..four score,& 7 years ago..)well..anyways..I had the brillint marketing idea of buying up a shitload of gettysburg tshirts,& tie dyeing em red, white & blue.I figured I'd just walk around town with a sign & backpack full,& probably sell out every day.Til I went into the local wal mart,& there were the shirts I thought of!!!!made in hondouras,of course!and why would anyone pay the money for local, handmde goods when walmart got it for $5.99.I thought I done came up with an ingenious money makin scheme,& them fuckers beat me to the punch..It's been almost 3 years,& that store still oisses me off!!!!anyways,I'm done my rant now..thanx for listening

Solution: a "Proud To Be Misled" T-shirt printed on Afghani hemp.
